A thug is a thug no matter where he lives

vox populi small thumbnail 'The kampung may not experience as much development as the city, but that doesn't mean development necessarily produces more cultured and well-mannered people.'

Ng Suee Lim: Noh Omar not fit for high office

Yobama: Certain wild animals (e.g. wolves) mark their territories with their urine. That's what I learned from ‘Animal Planet' on Astro.

I think Noh Omar also watched ‘Animal Planet', and must have learned a lot from the channel by the look of things. That's why he saw fit to use his thugs to repel the Sekinchan assemblyman Ng Suee Lim for 'trespassing'. This is most unbecoming of the minister.

Umno men are really showing a poor example to our youngsters in school of how to get along with people of different ethnic backgrounds, despite what its president has claimed about the 'goodness' of 1Malaysia.

Roy: Ng, kampung (village) people are real nice and hospitable. This guy, Noh Omar, is only Malay in name - he does not have the real Malay spirit. "Kecil tapak tangan nyiru ditadahkan" - that's the real Malay. Go to a Malay kampung house and they will welcome you with pride as if they are honoured by your visit.

Hunger for power and money has transformed people like Noh and he does not represent the Malays. Noh is more like the greedy town rowdy who is afraid that his riches may be affected if his name suffers.

Malaysians Are Not Stupid: I strongly believe that the Adun for Sekinchan should not insult the people who live in the kampung . The kampung may not experience as much development as the city, but that doesn't mean development necessarily produces more cultured and well-mannered people.

Look at how some of the city folks behave when they drive, and you can see what I mean. We should just call this fellow a thug. A thug is a thug no matter where he lives - kampung or city.

Anonymous: It's time DAP create their own version of ‘unit amal' to protect their members and MP from assault by all these thugs. You can ask Komtar assemblyman Ng Wei Aik how many times he had been assaulted by such thugs, including having a slipper thrown at him. So, please consider this suggestion seriously.

Gerard Samuel Vijayan: In order to teach Nor Omar a lesson, I suggest that the Selangor state government, together with Pakatan backbenchers, pay a visit to Tanjung Karang and the various kampungs there for a fact-finding mission and investigate the grouses of the farmers and their complaints against Bernas.

I also suggest that the fact-finding tour be headed by the MB himself together with senior Malay leaders from PKR and PAS as well as state DAP leaders. The state government should make it clear to Noh Omar that Tanjung Karang and its surrounding areas are not his personal fiefdom.

Passing Cloud: That trouble-maker again! As an elected rep and minister, Noh Omar's behaviour is a disgrace and a bad example. But then again, Umno is infested with such specimens.

Azmin braces to take blame for Zaid's pullout

Multi-Racial: Azmin Ali, nobody is going to blame you as you are an Anwar Ibrahim man. If we want to allocate blame, then we blame Anwar for letting this happen. Whatever it is in terms of public perception, PKR elections is dirty and full of fraud. It is just like what Umno and Election Commission did in the general and by-elections.

Instead of having this pre-emptive stand, why don't you tell us what you have done for Malaysia?

Not Confused: It's time PKR sorts itself out and acts like a government-in-waiting. The formation of a shadow cabinet is an urgent priority - something that should have been done a long time ago.

How can an opposition be effective when they don't have one person to shadow their counterpart in the government? A detailed election plan, a roadmap to Putrajaya and manifesto is urgently needed.

Christ follower: Zaid, don't pull out from the race. Go ahead and see your strength in the party. You've got nothing to lose even if you don't win. You can still contribute towards the progress of the party.

Anwar should change his mentality and work with all members concern if he really wants to take over Putrajaya. Otherwise, he can't even dream of fulfilling his dream. It looks like Anwar doesn't want Zaid in PKR.

Drama queen: The real race is to Putrajaya. Sometimes the engine breaks down, tyre punctured and minor accidents happened. We repair or replace them but the driver must focused on getting to Putrajaya.

PKR: Zaid still officially in the running

Jaguh: PKR don't flip-flop like Umno. When the man says he is out, he is out. Respect that. Are you expecting him to make a U-turn? Knowing Zaid Ibrahim, he has his pride and his reasons for doing this.

Why? Because PKR is full of bag-carriers and insecure people who cannot stomach the fact that a new kid in the block is making huge waves within the party in such a short time.

Everyone is protecting his or her own turf. Grow up or get out. You are not ready to even accept change within the party, how can you change the nation?

Darth Vader: This is just plain stupid. What is going to happen if he does not officially notify of the pullout? Put him in detention class?

Alan Goh: Zaid, please take the defeat graciously, as everyone, including me, look upon you as a gentleman with high principles. After all, you have given your best shot, taking into consideration the fact that you joined PKR recently, unlike Azmin Ali.

After the two by-elections defeat at Galas and Batu Sapi, the voters need the top leadership of PKR to remain intact to face the coming 13 th GE. There is no point in winning the battle in PKR but losing the war to take over Putrajaya.

Justice Kini: Zaid, you may lose now, but in the future, you may have a better footing. In the meantime, grill Anwar on what role you should now play. He is the one who got you in PKR, and should not let you go just like that.

You still have to prepare the coordinating work for Pakatan Rakyat. Figure out the Pakatan logo. Push the Registrar of Societies for Pakatan's registration. Do not leave Pakatan a half-baked cake.

Don't give up. Many Malaysian want a change in government, and were happy that you became part of that change.

Wira: Azmin, it is very unfortunate that you do not yet have the stature of Zaid to provide PKR with a vision. No one wants to see intrigue in a party that is supposed to be people-driven rather than money-driven.

Fidus Achates: I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I read these comments about Zaid being a gentleman. I ask you in all seriousness - bitching, moaning, groaning - is this the behaviour of a gentleman?
