your say Zaini Hassan's article reminds me of a quote by Alfred, Bruce Wayne's butler, in ‘The Dark Knight'...

Utusan Malaysia's May 13 article thrashed

Changeagent: Of all the irrational rantings by Utusan Malaysia , this one takes the cake for being the most offensive, racially insensitive, dangerous and provocative to date. Yet, the authorities sit idly by, pretending it is no big deal since it suits the bigger objectives of consolidating their support base among the rural folks.

Whatever happened to the eight police stations who took turns to record Zunar's statements all on the same night? Why are they not taking any action against Utusan ? Surely, Zaini Hassan's article is much more seditious and divisive compared to the cartoonist's drawings.

The moral of the story - there is freedom of speech and press in Malaysia, as long as Umno says so.

By Election Fan: May 13th is always the favourite case for this corrupted racist regime ever since 41 years ago. What is their motive? Is it to instigate some ultras to make the darkest day in Malaysia history happen again?

In doing so, they can nail down the opposition leaders with ISA. It will allow them to formulate another NEP-like policy just to loot the nation and rakyat's money for another 41 years to further enrich Umnoputras.

Multi Racial: Zaini Hassan is a reminder to the nation of who we don't want to have running the media. We want someone who is objective, neutral and focus on what is good for the country.

Zaini Hassan is also a reminder to the nation that we allow BN to rule for far too long so much so they have great influence on government servants and the media. Zaini Hassan is a reminder to the nation of product of BTN (Biro Tatanegara) which is racist and selfish.

Zaini Hassan is a reminder to the nation that we all have great responsibility to exercise our democratic right so that we can elect a government that will unite the country and not divide it. Zaini Hassan is a reminder to the nation of how stupid we are becoming.

Dingy: It wasn't reported in history that May 13 was engineered to oust our first prime minister. Tunku Abdul Rahman was perceived to favour the Chinese. He had requested his deputy not to allow the police issued permit for the victory procession by the opposition and yet it was issued.

If PM Najib continues to favour the Chinese, then another May 13 will remove him.

Anonymous: Zaini's ‘article' (if you can call that one) reminds me of a quote by Alfred, Bruce Wayne's butler, in ‘The Dark Knight':

"Some men aren't looking for anything logical. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn."

I believe Zaini is one such individual. He only seek to destroy anything and everything in his path for his own personal gratification. And until someone takes action against him, we will be heading down a very dangerous road to total oblivion, which we might never recover.

So Najib, are you going to act against him in line of your 1Malaysia vision? Or are you just going to sit down there and pretend none of this ever happened? The ball is in your court. And we are watching.

Speaker refuses query on Utusan's May 13 article

Tailek: Do we - the Chinese and Indians and moderate Malays - want to vote for a BN/Umno-led government that controls a thrash publication like Utusan Malaysia .

What's so auspicious or sacred about an infamous day like May 13, which left our history and race relations scarred for all time. All right-minded voters should totally reject all BN candidates at the next GE. We need to bring some sanity back into our government.

Magnus: The House speaker was incorrect to reject Lim Kit Siang's question on the grounds that it was posed as a question to Abu Seman Yusop in his personal capacity. The question was, in my opinion, validly posed by a member of the opposition to an incumbent government minister in his formal capacity as deputy home minister.

The opposition MP was not asking for Abu Seman Yusop's personal opinion but for his formal view as a government minister in the Home Ministry, which is tasked with overseeing such matters.

If anybody is expressing a personal opinion here, it looks like it is the speaker himself who is expressing a personal (and biased) opinion as Pandikar Amin Mulia rather than as the impartial speaker of the Dewan Rakyat when he stated: "I understand, but your question is referring to his political opinion which has nothing to do with the ministry."

Sunnyd: Yes, May 13 should be celebrated. Some Malaysians had given their lives. Their names should be put up in lights. It allowed for the re-engineering of Malaysian society. But the plan was hijacked by BN for their own selfish gains. Today's generation has to deal with the fallout. So they have to stand up and take back our country.

Ferdtan: Maybe PKR can send Zaid Ibrahim to gentlemanly engage with Utusan Malaysia - since he believes that Utusan should be given a chance. It is beyond doubt that this recalcitrant newspaper cannot be changed and should be closed.

If the BN government do not want to take any action, then be fair to the other opposition papers. Don't practise double standards.

FairMind: So MCA, Gerakan and MIC is not bothered about the glorification of May 13? No wonder they are just only concerned about lining their pockets and selling out their own race.

It is no wonder that the other races have been utterly suppressed and blamed for every single incident, labelled as unpatriotic, mata sepet , kaki botol , pendatang and what not.

Kgen: The racist rag Utusan, which is owned by Umno, is the real face of Umno. 1Malaysia is just a thin mask over that ugly face, and the mask is becoming undone.
