Another case: Once again, where's IPCMC?

your say 'Ask Hishamudddin and he will make 'cowhead' excuses. Even if the woman is dealing in contraband goods, the police have no right to behave like barbarians.'

Plainclothes cops slap and rob pregnant woman

Habib RAK: These thuggish acts by the police has been going on for a long period of time. Now, more and more rakyat are willing to speak up. We must commend this brave and pregnant Chow Soo Meng for standing up to the thugs in uniform.

Any authority who wishes to carry out their duties, should have a standard operating procedures (SOPs) which are acceptable to the rakyat. These underhanded actions by the police are in violation of the SOPs because these thugs are doing it for their personal gains.

More and more, the need for IPCMC (Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission) is extremely clear.

Satinah Osman: It is becoming increasingly obvious that the PDRM (Polis DiRaja Malaysia) and MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) will - like in the case of Egypt - be the ultimate cause for the downfall of the BN and Umno.

The 2008 tsunami was the result of violence by PDRM and the ‘Chemical Alis' firing water cannons on the protestors and causing unwarranted inconvenience to the public by closing roads. To add insult to injury, they turned back all Indian-looking persons from entering Kuala Lumpur and many had to return without attending weddings and temple functions.

Most citizens think that many of the robberies and thefts are carried out by PDRM personnel in mufti or Rela. This is increasingly becoming true. These organisations have become so discredited that the fate that awaits them is what the Egyptians did to their police and security forces. What happened to their types in the Iranian Revolution is another story for another time.

Fairplayer: Why are the police assaulting a woman? First it was a frame-maker who was robbed of RM13,000 by police officers. Now a pregnant woman is the victim. Who need the police if all they do is attack, assault and plant drugs in your car and shop and house, and then frame charges against you? Sick police force of a sick country.

408d: You can pretty much guess what will eventually happen. They will maybe remand one cop and he might disappear before the court hearing. Eventually this incident will get swept under the carpet like so many other incidents, and the poor woman will give up because there is nothing she can do.

Meanwhile, the police will continue to be at the centre of more controversies, and again nothing much will happen. And after the Tenang by-election victory, the BN and Umno are getting cocky and their egos even more inflated. Do you think they are going to do anything about this?

Artchan: Ask Home Minister Hishamudddin Hussein and he will make stupid ‘cowhead' excuses for the police force. Even if the woman is dealing in contraband goods, the police have no right to behave like barbarians.

Werner Haiges: Is there any decent police officer who reads this and knows about the crooks and criminals in his workplace? Isn't it time you muster the courage to stand up? Every other day another horror story.

People want peace and security, and the police is paid by the public to ensure that. They are supposed to be trusted. There seems to be more public trust in the private security guards in residential areas than in our police. What a shame!

P Dev Anand Pillai: There may be an agenda behind this - note that only the non-Malays are being harassed and robbed in this fashion. Even if reports are lodged, what good will it do? We are complaining about the police to the police themselves.

This is perhaps to force and threaten the Chinese into submission so that they vote for the BN in the next by-election or the next GE. Note again that the MCA and the Gerakan will pretend as though this never happenned and will sponsor a group of clowns called 1Malaysia NGO to bribe the Chinese in every by-election. Perhaps now even the Chinese business class will know how the BN government treats them. This is what they get for continuously supporting the BN.

Why is it that the woman went to a DAP MP for help instead of a MCA MP? Because she knows that latter can't do anything.

Tailek: PDRM is the Polis Diraja Malaysia. It appears our home minister is unable or unwilling to investigate the now more frequent cases of police delinquency and criminal conduct.

Since this is the Polis DiRaja, I would respectfully request that the Agong should instruct the prime minister to direct his home minister to take these cases more seriously and to take immediate action to weed out and charge these black sheep.

The rakyat's perception of the police is already bad enough. Black sheep like these plainclothes cops will only convince the rakyat that the whole force has gone to the dogs.

Changeagent: What more can we say? Many Malaysian police are just glorified robbers and thieves in uniform. It's an endemic problem and cancerous cell that seems to be getting out of control.

Pure Malaysian: I think it's time we had Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng's phone number in our handset, in case we might need it in near future.

Md Imraz Muhammed Ikhbal: This country is beginning to remind me of Gotham City. What used to be a ‘filem' fantasy has now become a shocking reality. The only difference in that movie is that Gotham City has Batman as hero to save the city. We have Badman as PM to ruin ours.

Myop101: IPCMC! IPCMC! IPCMC!
