The experts slug it out in Teoh RCI

vox populi small thumbnail 'If the MACC lawyer can demonstrate how to strangulate oneself, maybe we can request Dr Prashant to demonstrate how he could squat on the window sill?'

'Teoh did not squat on window sill'

Justice seeker: A new hero is emerging on the Malaysian silver screen. Yesterday he told the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) that Teoh Beng Hock's chest bones could have broken due to using a hammer and phone directory book.

Today he debunked the theory that DAP political aide Teoh Beng Hock was squatting on the window sill before jumping to his death after being interrogated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission two years ago.

He pointed out to the commission that it was not possible for Teoh to be squatting on a window sill of 3mm to 5mm in width and get those sort of scratch marks on the soles of his shoes.

Sadly this simple question was not raised during TBH's inquest. He seems to be a very smart lawyer. This new hero is the Bar Council lawyer Christopher Leong.

Anonymous_40a7: When a lawyer can do better forensic investigations and deductions than the pathetic pathologists, you really have to wonder how bad are the standards of the medical profession at the moment.

Anonymous828_h: If he did not squat, as that is what one has to do to get out, plus the fact that when you jump in a squatting position, you cannot but help going head first. The evidence shows that he landed on his feet, so there are only two theories I can see.

One, he was not thrown out as he landed feet first, and if he was thrown out, then he would have grabbed the window sills and that would incur a broken arm or leave visible marks. Two, he could not have jumped out since the window is too small.

The RCI will have to deduce from both - that he was thrown out (not possible) and that he jumped out (also not possible). Another explanation is that he was thrown out while he was unconscious, and that theory has also been rejected.

If Teoh had committed suicide, why? And if he was killed, why kill him?

4th Generation Pendatang: Given the scratch marks are closer to his heels, my guess is he was 'forced' to squat on the window sill facing outwards (that's why his weight was on his heel) and possibly held in place by some person(s) behind him, holding on to his belt threatening him.

Rick Teo: It is ridiculous for the pathologist to conclude it was suicide based merely on the indentation of the shoes. It is as if they were there when the actual suicide took place. Unless they are absolutely certain, they should not say it was suicide.

The whole episode appears to be rehearsed to fit in with the expected decision that Teoh had committed suicide.

Pure Malaysian: If the MACC lawyer can demonstrate how to strangulate oneself, maybe we can request Dr Prashant Naresh Sambekar to demonstrate how he could squat on the window sill.

Outahere: Just carry out a test on whether the 3-5mm thin window sill could support TBH's weight.

Ex-employee implicates Taib Mahmud in video

Justicekini: This deserves a lifetime prison sentence and the freezing of all of Abdul Taib Mahmud's assets. We on many occasions have ask the authorities to take action. Many are crying foul about the lack of action despite the many reports with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP).

But nothing moves. With ample proof like this on the plate, MACC doesn't lift a finger.

Ex-Umno: The ball is in PM Najib Razak's court. He just can't let it be, while millions of people around the world are watching closely this very high-profile issue. I wonder what the honourable MACC chief Abu Kassem Mohamed is thinking about this matter.

Louis: If so many people dare come out openly to accuse Taib of corruption, the authorities should be bold enough to investigate these allegations. These are not rumours spread anonymously.

Joker: It seems like Forbes Asia has got it wrong with its latest list of 40 richest Malaysians . Someone with US$200 million made it into the list, but here we have one 'low-profile' multi-billionaire not on it.

The MACC chief, who was voted among the 'most influential' person in combating corruption, is failing his promise to never 'sweep matters under the carpet'.

How many allegations and accusations have been levelled against this Sarawak chief minister? Most come with documentary evidence backed by witnesses. But funnily enough, not even one investigation file has been opened.

The MACC should at least open one file and have a chat with the CM. Later they can stamp NFA (no further action) on it. At least like this, the MACC won't be accused of sweeping things under the carpet.

By Election Fan: The wealth of the nation was treated like their own by these BN politicians. This chief minister must be eliminated just like the dictators in the Middle East.

I urge all Sarawakians, especially the bumiputera who are educated and well-informed, to reach out to their clansmen and tell them not to be deceived again in the coming state election.

Tell them not to feel that they are indebted by the election gifts and monies. It was looted from the people. Take them and vote in the opposition to change your fate. Tell all Sarawak people the mission of saving our nation shall start with the bumiputeras in Sarawak.
