Police have not obtained any lead or made any arrest related to the distribution of sex VCDs involving a man resembling Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Selangor police chief Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah ( top photo ) said police were still investigating the case.

"There is no new development, or arrest made, with regard to the matter.

"We are aware of the items being distributed in the state and have classified the case under section 292 of the Penal Code for distribution of obscene material," he said.

Tun Hisan recently briefed reporters on the successful arrest of two men in a multi-million ringgit syabu bust at Ampang.

NONE Earlier today, Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin ( centre in picture ) lodged a police report at the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters, after receiving a similar VCD in her mailbox, together with a forged PAS letterhead.

There is a new twist to the issue - the cover of the VCD has an image of newly elected PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu, along with the title 'Scandal Seks Mat Sabu'.

Zuraida called the distribution of the sex recordings the work of Umno in its bid to create conflict among the Pakatan Rakyat coalition partners.

In lodging the police report over the VCD which she received in her mail yesterday, Zuraida said the spread of the video is fairly rampant but police have not been taking any action until today.

“I received the VCD yesterday and in it there was a letter on a forged PAS letterhead, a VCD entitled ‘Skandal Seks Mat Sabu’ (Scandal Sex Mat Sabu) and a brochure containing pictures of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim. This shows such dirty political culture has also spread to Ampang,” she said.

NONE “The video is clearly politically motivated and I suspect it is being done under the orders of or involve people who hold high positions.”

Zuraida also called on Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil to also state her stand on the distribution of such smut, as it is certainly against family values and harmonious ties.

She said it would also affect the family institution as the porn is continuously being distributed and yet we aspire to be a developed nation with a community having first class thinking.

‘Not only my house’

Zuraida said it is not only her house that received such smut as other households in Ampang also received them.

“It is becoming rampant in Selangor and I think it should be easy to identify the culprits involved. However, the police till today are as if sitting on the case. They should identify who is involved in this dirty work,” she said.

NONE “I received it at my house in Kampung Ampang. When I checked the other residents nearby they also reported receiving it.”

Describing the act as politics of slander, Zuraida said the PAS letterhead was falsely used to create an impression.

Asked whether she had seen the contents of the VCD, the Ampang MP said she does not want to see its contents.

Zuraida said there was once this blog which had the title ‘ Video Sex: MP Ampang Zuraida bersekutu ’ (Sex video: Ampang MP Zuraida is involved) but when she opened it, it merely showed her participating in a demonstration.

“I would not be surprised that Umno or Barisan Nasional would be involved in this kind of politics as this is their culture. This will bring down society as they would resort to such dirty and despicable act,” she said.

Zuraida said although the title depicted Mat Sabu, she thinks it concerns the Anwar sex tape.

Such filth, she said had also spread all over Selangor and also Terengganu .

Newly-elected PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu said he does not know over the distribution of an alleged sex video with him on the cover in Ampang as reported by MP Zuraida.

“I cannot comment on the matter as I have to ask Zuraida first,” he said.

Khalwat 'old issue'

Mohamad or better known as Mat Sabu was also asked to comment whether he felt comfortable if his previous khalwat case in 1995, was brought up again and used politically, to which he replied he “does not mind as this was an old issue”.

In 1995, he was charged at the Kota Baru Syariah High Court with khalwat (close proximity) at  a hotel there but he was acquitted as there was not enough evidence to convict him.

Asked whether he was prepared if the ( khalwat ) issue is raised, Mat Sabu said he would like to know what issues are raised on the matter.

“It is not a matter of whether I am prepared or not, I do not know what issues they are going to raise,” he said.

The video was shown to some journalist and senior editors by the ‘Datuk T’ trio - led by businessperson Shazryl Eskay Abdullah at the Carcosa Seri Negara on March 21, which allegedly showed Anwar having sex.

azlan Anwar has denied it was him in the video.

Shazryl, along with his other ‘Datuk T’ trio counterparts Risda chairperson and former Malacca chief minister Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik along with former Perkasa treasurer-general Shuib Lazim, who had all claimed responsibility, had been called by police to assist in investigations.

Shazryl has allegedly handed over what he claimed was the only copy of the tape to the police and Bukit Aman is conducting investigations into the matter. However, the CCTV recording has made its way online. So far no one has been charged with the offence of showing such smut.
