Three PKR Youth members were arrested in Batu Gajah, Perak at the town market around 9.20 this morning for wearing the yellow Bersih 2.0 T-shirts, even though they had another garment over the trademark tee.

NONE According to PKR Perak deputy secretary Tan Kar Hing, the trio were simply having tea when the police picked them up.

"The police asked them to open their shirts, and arrest them after finding that the inner T-shirt is the Bersih T-shirt," reported Tan.

Tan said the trio were merely having tea at the time and not breaking any law.

The three are Batu Gajah deputy branch chief Adnan bin Talib, 50, vice branch chief Anthony Wijaya, 50, and Perak Youth squad director Tamil Selvam, 28.

They were later taken to  the Batu Gajah police station for investigations.

The incident follows a growing string of arrests over the past week, including that of Selangor exco Ronnie Liu early this morning while travelling with Chief Minister Khalid Ibrahim in the latter's car, and 14 activists, mostly from PKR, in Alor Setar this morning.

Cops' yellow fever hits Sabah

Meanwhile in Sabah seven Pakatan youth members were arrested while having breakfast at a coffeeshop in Asia City in Kota Kinabalu.

According to PKR Sabah deputy and chairperson of the Kota Kinabalu branch, 60 to 70 policemen showed up at 10.40am to arrest the seven, out of whom only one was wearing the now notorious Bersih T-shirt.

“It was not a ceramah (or) procession and just a friendly meal among friends. It is a blatant abuse of power, a total violation of human right and an act of intimidation by the authorities, to say the least,” said Liew in her blog.

According to her, they were taken to Karamunsing police station to have their statements taken.

As at 6pm they are still reported to be detained.
