Two years have passed since July 16, the date when DAP political aide Teoh Beng Hock was found dead on the rooftop of a building adjacent to the Selangor MACC offices in Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam.

The final report from the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) on Teoh’s death had been submitted to the Agong three weeks ago on June 22, but has yet to be released to the public.

NONE Edmund Bon, the representative of the Bar Council in the Teoh case, has given an ultimatum to the government that if “by a certain time the royal commission’s report is not released, the Bar Council will reveal our report (to the RCI)”.

He was attending the two-year memorial of Teoh’s death at the Kuala Lumpur Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall in Kuala Lumpur last night.

“After the royal commission’s report is released, we (the Bar Council) will release ours, then the public can compare both of the reports. We hope that both the reports are consistent,” he said.

“From previous RCIs, we found that their reports were very good. We hope that the same goes for Teoh’s case.”

Bon stressed that he was expressing his own opinion on the matter, and not the Bar Council's.

The memorial was attended by around 200 people, including the Teoh family, Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, Kepong MP Tan Seng Giaw, Teratai state assemblyperson Jenice Lee, Subang MP R Sivarasa, ‘Malaysians for Beng Hock’ watchdog group representative Wong Chin Huat and Sarawak activist Hii Tiong Huat.
