'What an excuse from Ibrahim Ali to save his face. Perkasa actually chickened out, fearing it would drowned by the Bersih marchers.'
'Perkasa rally called off to avoid clash among Malays'
YF: Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali once again manifest his incoherent behaviour, which is "saying without thinking".
Firstly, if he avoided countering Bersih 2.0 because there were many Malays there. Shouldn't Ibrahim be ranting against his fellow rival Malays rather than non-Malays?
Secondly, is Ibrahim blind to the fact that there were many non-Malays attending Bersih 2.0 and some of them were leading the crowd? Did you think over this before commenting, Ibrahim? Obviously not.
The obvious reason why Ibrahim Ali and his half-baked group of Perkasa followers went AWOL (absence without leave) during Bersih 2.0 is because they were too small a group. Even Umno Youth was unable to counter the size of the Bersih horde.
While the real Malaysia came out with a bang at Bersih 2.0, Umno and its little derivatives only managed a tiny insignificant fart.
Hamisu: Ibrahim Ali and the likes of him are the prophets of disunity. Continuing to promote discrimination and thinking themselves as masters instead of equals will be their downfall.
Everyone wants peace. However, at what price are we willing to pay for it? Do we continue to submit ourselves to the unreasonable demands of Perkasa?
It really doesn't matter to me whether this country actually ends up becoming an Islamic state, so long as my rights are not trampled on, and there's justice, no corruption, and country is managed properly.
We are not against Malay leadership. We are only against incompetent and corrupt leadership.
Henry Hock: From this idiot's statement, it is clear that he is a racist and a troublemaker. What has Bersih got to do with the Malays and the Chinese?
He seemed to say that if there were more Chinese, he would send his Malay supporters to smash them. Anyway, if one look at the photographs and video clips, there were a variety of races at the Bersih rally.
Obviously, there were more Malays because they were fed up with Umno's lies.
Karma: Ibrahim Ali is exactly talking like the police - never checked the media, got all the wrong information. We followed Malaysiakini from 12.30pm on July 9. We found out a large group of Chinese started marching from Jalan Landak, Pudu.
What an excuse from Ibrahim Ali in order to save his own face. Perkasa actually chickened out, fearing it would drowned by the Bersih marchers. At least, Umno Youth marched 200 meters with 500 people.
Please Ibrahim, stopping bluffing the public.
Ruben: Ibrahim Ali, not only are you a coward, you are a real menace to our society where Malaysians seek to live in peace, harmony and unity. You utter such seditious word and your actions are seditious too.
You should have been put behind bars a long time ago.
Tkc: A reasonable sample size for, say, a population of 12 million voters with a confidence level of 95 percent and a margin of error of 5 percent, is about 1,000 people.
In the case of Bersih 2.0, 50,000 random people put themselves in harm's way to support free and fair elections. These 50,000 people are statistically very significant and one can deduce that they represent the ‘silent majority'.
The opposite was not true for Perkasa or Umno Youth. Despite their rhetoric, the reason why only a handful of supporters turned up on July 9 was because deep in their hearts they do not believe in Perkasa or Umno Youth's cause.
It certainly had nothing to do with the fear of Malays fighting each other.
P Dev Anand Pillai: It is because that the Malays don't make noise that they are so easily cheated, manipulated and indoctrinated time and time again by their own leaders. It is this attitude that has made them dependant on handouts and government bailouts.
To have leaders who proudly state that this is how the Malays should behave is totally despicable. The day the Malays come out of the mould in which their leaders have made for them, is the day they would have achieved their real ‘merdeka'.
World Citizen: So, if we take Ibrahim Ali's policy to its ultimate conclusion, if a Malay unlawfully kills another Malay, all Malays will keep quiet and not make noise. And if a Malay PM exploits Malays, all Malays will keep quiet and not make noise.
What a ‘wonderful' society that is, based on this great new theory of Ibrahimalism!
Kee Thuan Chye: Chinese and Indians numbered only one or two percent of the Bersih crowd? Were his snitches deliberately misinforming him? Or is he spinning it three weeks after the event?
If the latter, then he's stupid, because the video images on YouTube show otherwise. If he is stupid, why does the media bother with him? Starve him of the limelight and he'll be a nobody. Don't give him space - and face.
Anonymous: I used to get annoyed each time I read articles about Ibrahim Ali and his racist rants, but after some time, I realised that MK ( Malaysiakini ) and MI ( Malaysian Insider ) reported about him for light humour. Otherwise, MK and MI would always be about serious political reporting.
So, my friends, accept that Ibrahim is a buffoon, talks like he knows everything, and is arrogant to boot, even though he's obviously extremely racist. Never mind, you can't fix people with such thick skin.
Anonymous_3db4: Don't be so nasty, folks. It's nice to have ‘Comical Ali' - he can make people laugh.
