Top cops 'scared' to look Anwar in the eye

your say 'How many legal ‘firsts' are created out of these two sodomy trials? Can someone kind enough to list them down to refresh our memories?'

Sodomy II: Interviews with ex-top cops stalled

YellowBoxer: Anwar Ibrahim's presence was not necessary? Well, that's just your opinion, Mr Prosecutor-Cum-Persecutor.

The defence thinks it is necessary, and it is within the law for Anwar to be present, so stop stalling the process. Do these two top cops have something to hide from Anwar? Why be scared of Anwar, ex-IGP Musa Hassan and former Malacca police chief Mohd Rodwan Mohd Yusof?

Plastic Rose: Scared to face the truth in the month of Ramadan? If it is not law that Anwar must be there, it is also not law that Anwar can't be there, and logic says he must be there to give instructions to his lawyers.

His lawyers represent him, and as their client they have to work on his instructions, so why should he not be there?

There can only be one reason - the two are afraid to face the truth especially during the fasting month and the truth will come out as you will be seen lying in the face of non-Muslims.

Anonymous: The reason for disallowing Anwar's presence during the interview is simple - because Anwar would be looking at them in the eye and telling them they are lying.

I would really be proud if Malaysia is first in noble deeds and not first in base and perverse practices. Will the judge in this case make a wise ruling?

P Dev Anand Pillai: If they see Anwar in person, they may not have the courage to continue with their lies therefore they request that he not be there when it is a fundamental right of the accused to be there when there is evidence being given against him.

If they are so sure and after having sworn on the Quran, why can't the PM, his wife and these two top cops be brave enough to tell the truth? After all, one has sworn on the Quran, therefore one should not be afraid.

Further, it is totally despicable and shameful for a man like solicitor-general II Mohd Yusof Zainal Abideen to be allowed to be pulled by the nose by those in power to continue prosecuting this case. Perhaps something big awaits him if he can pull this through and send Anwar to the slammer.

Wira: I think they are afraid that they may blurt out the truth if the accused is there, not that such surprises have not happened before.

In Sodomy I, the supposed victim Azizan Abu Bakar was repeatedly and successively asked (three times) in front of the judge, the prosecution, the defence and the accused, and each time Azizan denied that he was sodomised by the accused.

Yet the judge saw fit to disallow the verbal admission. The plot in Sodomy II is no different.

Onyourtoes: If the prosecution and the police are so confidence of the guilt of Anwar, why are they putting all the hindrances? Are you not creating your own doubts in the mind of the judge and the public that there are indeed lots of things to hide in this case?

Moontime: This has never happened before. If they are right, why the fear of confronting DSAI (Anwar)? Or is his presence renders them feeling extreme guilt thus spilling out the beans and exposing the conspiracy for all to see?

'Berani kerana benar, takut kerana salah' - what are you afraid of Musa/Rodwan? You both weren't afraid of God when you conspired to bring DSAI down, so what gives?

Hati Panas: If Anwar cannot be present for the witness interview, can Anwar be present during the court case, when the witness is called in?

The prosecutors are obviously buying time to allow somebody higher than the judge to make that important decision.

What is the intention of the prosecutors? To prosecute Anwar politically or to prosecute him for a crime that he had been accused?

Anwar had been systematically deprived from all the usual judiciary fairness as if he is already convicted and the sentence decided even before the trial begins.

Anonymous_417c: This is getting from boring to interesting. Now let us see who is delaying the case. Nevertheless the prosecution may be right, and it is of no loss to let the good judge judge the umpteenth impasse of Sodomy II.

2CTS WORTH: PM Najib Razak, you can't nail Anwar for sodomy after all these years, why not put a stop to this sandiwara?

It is already a gross injustice making Anwar prove his innocence when you can't prove his guilt. A little cow sense should tell you it's time you put a stop to these idiosyncracies. You have worn our patience thin and eroded your credibility heavily.

Danny Lazaroo: My prediction? The judge will agree with the prosecution on the grounds that even though their request is most irregular, that it falls within the confines of the law.

It is on these kinds of rulings that the judge has demonstrated his blind loyalty thus far. I hope he acts fairly and justly, but I'm not going to hold my breath on this.

Swipenter: How many legal ‘firsts' are created out of these two sodomy trials? Can someone kind enough to list them down to refresh our memories?
