VOXPOP 'It took more than a week or so to discover the PM's daughter was not in Perth and to deny the allegation?'
'Najib's daughter wasn't in Perth at all
1M:
Referring to the consulate-general's denial, apparently we have commented falsely about PM's daughter based on the earlier information received, therefore we should admit our mistakes and apologise.
Karma: Nobody can trust the government these days. Just take the RM24 million ring. The law minister can say the ring has been returned because there was no buyer.
Then the health minister can say there was no tear gas fired at the hospital at the Bersih 2.0 rally. In addition, the PM argued there was no physical contact by the police at the rally.
The home minister also accused the Parti Socialis Malaysia 6 of waging war against the king. So can we trust them to say the PM's daughter was not in Perth?
Bender: The Australian media says one thing while the New Straits Times comes up with another - who do you believe? I put my money on the foreign media, of course.
Siapa Raja: Anyway, what's really wrong with the PM's daughter going on a shopping spree? I see absolutely nothing wrong with it.
If the mother can do it, then it's okay for the daughter to follow suit. As the saying goes, like mother like daughter.
Dede: Beware! Australian immigration records do not disappear as easily as Bolehland's records.
2CTS Worth: It took more than a week or so to discover the PM's daughter was not in Perth and to deny the allegation? The West Australian newspaper should come right out and apologise or be sued.
Naaah!: Was she in Perth or elsewhere in Australia? Obviously a mere verbal denial is not enough.
The government should file an official complaint or sue the daily if Najib wanted to show the people that his daughter is innocent. "Looks like me. Sounds like me. But it's not me!"
My THOR: Is Utusan Malaysia the ‘twin sister' of the West Australian , spinning wild and fictitious news on Najib's daughter shopping spree in Perth?
Perhaps West Australian should be advised that there is a truce among Malaysian politicians not to involve family members when attacking one's opponent.
Utusan , your ‘twin sister' is doing great following the path that you took.
Ordinaryman: It is not fair to the daughter of the PM to be accused of a shopping spree in Perth without any documentary evidence, either by our immigration authorities or their Australian counterpart. Do not speculate in the name of the child.
SS2 Girl: Oh dear, now you know how it feels to have your child be reported falsely about something she didn't do. And it sure feels horrible, doesn't it?
KJ rebuts Nazri: Court decisions legally binding
Lover Boy: Nazri Abdul Aziz is a lawyer by training and was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn and appears to be qualified to be the de facto law minister.
Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, on the other hand, graduated from one of the top universities in England - Oxford.
But from Khairy's opposing stand on this issue, it appears that this MP is upstaging the de facto law minister and teaching him to suck eggs. Khairy is, of course, right.
Look at the judgment of the Court of Appeal - the basis of the decision is to declare Section 15 of the UUCA unconstitutional.
That is the ‘ratio decidendi' of the judgment and that is law. The de facto law minister call it an ‘obiter dicta'. Any law school idiot from Universiti Malaya or Universiti Islam Antarabangsa knows the difference.
Anonymous_3e0b: I dread the day when all rulings handed down by court will become just ‘opinions'.
Paul Warren: Khairy, you now have made Nazri lose face. So I wonder if he is going to make sure you lose face next. Well, I guess this will happen within the next two weeks.
Chan Ching: For Umno, nothing is binding. It can interpret the law as it wishes.
Gandhi: A rebuttal of this nature is to be welcomed as this was never a culture in BN. Call a spade a spade and earn the trust from the public.
Both sides of the political divide should have some space for dissension. Nazri has been getting away with murder for a long time and he's one of the unpopular ministers.
It seems there is no one to reprimand him as he's more equal than the other ministers.
Rick Teo: Umno members like Nazri are used to riding roughshod over all institutions. So they don't really give a damn what the court says. Umno's rules are more important.
Borg Kinaulu: KJ, just for our clarity... are you calling Nazri a liar or is he just plain ignorant?
