It's court of public opinion that matters

YOURSAY 'Don't worry too much about investigations, prosecutions and convictions. At least in the court of public opinion they all stand convicted.'

NGO secretly films NFC-linked S'pore condo

your say Changeagent: Frankly, I think the secret filming inside Singapore's Orchard Scotts condominium compound is a pointless exercise.

As much as I appreciate that the valiant Jingga 13 members are trying to keep this National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal alive, I am sure there are many other ways to do this without risking being charged with trespassing or unauthorised filming of private property.

There is just no point in risking legal punishment for the sake of revealing little more than what the public already knows.

Let's not give Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil and her family the benefit of having the last laugh.

Black Mamba: Contrary to critics, Jingga 13 is building the case for Pakatan Rakyat to tighten the screw on the NFC scandal.

Filming public facilities of an exclusive condo is no crime as the amenities are for the usage of residents and guests as long as they are not caught red-handed breaking in illegally.

Nevertheless it was futile for Jingga 13 to have wasted their time and money making the trip to Singapore when photographs of the condo facilities are easily obtainable in any local agent's sale/rental website .

Md Imraz Muhammed Ikhbal: How come there is no call for police investigation by any Muslim or Malay NGOs?

It is interesting to note that comments on implementation of Article 153 or indelible ink or rumours on Sodomy II verdict gathering perturbs Ibrahim Ali and Perkasa way more than the glaring filth of corruption and deceit by so-called Muslims leaders in this country.

Ksn: Very good work, Jingga 13. It is necessary and the time is long overdue to expose this scandal and all those associated with it.

There is no need to worry too much about investigations, prosecutions and convictions. At least in the court of public opinion, they all stand convicted.

This approach must be adopted in all other cases of abuses involving politicians, GLCs (government-linked companies) and top civil servants.

Jean Pierre: Jingga's intention is commendable. But it's a bit disturbing to read their comments about not having ‘halal' sign and alcohol being served.

Would they turn out to be self-righteous, hypocritical Umnoites once Pakatan comes to power. We will never get back the pre-Mahatihir era, will we?

Trumpet Call: The NFC corruption scandal is widely known overseas. It is also the talk of the town here in Malaysia.

However, the sad fact is that this blatant daylight robbery of the taxpayers' money is little known and talked about where it matters most, and that is, in the interior of East Malaysia and the heart of the Malay hinterland in the peninsula.

Can PKR youths somehow do something about disseminating this vital information to the rural areas? Only then can we turn the tide against Umno and BN.

Blind Freddo: It has occurred to me that if this feedlot enterprise had been a viable proposition right from the beginning, then the opportunity would have been taken up by some enterprising entrepreneur.

My suggestion is that the whole concept was a hoax, hatched by conmen in the Agriculture Ministry, designed specifically to rip off as much money as possible for the Umno elite.

It is quite clear now that the Shahrizat family knows nothing about cattle raising and never made a significant attempt to employ knowledgeable people. All they wanted to do was to pursue the hedonistic lifestyle they had come to believe was their right.

Malaysian Down Under: So sad, I had such great expectations of Shahrizat. To the public, it looks like she used her influence to unlawfully help her relatives.

And the sad part is, BN and Umno will again win the next election, and these politicians will continue to rob from the poor rakyat.

I hope they let us Malaysians abroad vote. I know my vote from Australia may be insignificant, but all it takes is for good men to do nothing for evil to flourish.

Anonymous_4056: I am ashamed to be a Malaysian. All the Umno kingpins are involved deeply in corruption, one way or another.

And yet, Umno members continue to come out in full support of their corrupted leaders. This is the real Bolehland, they have no dignity whatsoever.

Paul Warren: My daughter has just come back from abroad. She asked me to show her a Malaysian cow.

I stay in the Mont Kiara area, so I took her to the window and pointed out the condo next door and told her that to at least one Umno minister, a cow looks like that.
