Ignore the Jati leader at your own peril

YOURSAY ' Hasan Ali is playing the ‘R' (race and religion) card to the hilt. This is very dire for the country.'

Hasan: DAP will merge M'sia, S'pore into republic

your say Geronimo: Come on, former Selangor exco member Hasan Ali. You can fool the kampong folk but you certainly cannot fool us.

Do you honestly think that for one moment PAS and PKR would allow a merger between Malaysia and Singapore to go through even if there is an expressed desire on the part of DAP?

DAP just doesn't have enough seats on its own to form a government so how could it possible that it could move mountains by merging Malaysia with Singapore.

Secondly, with the things going on here, do you think for one moment the ordinary Singaporeans would want a merger when they are doing so well themselves all these years just to suffer racial and religious bigotry from Umno, Perkasa, Perkida, Jati and what have you?

The Singaporeans will say, "Thanks, but no thanks." Even the Malay Singaporeans will protest - to give up their secular lifestyle for a bozo like you?

Be gone. You are nothing but a fake, and first class at that.

FellowMalaysian: The reason why our country is filled with malaise is due to the presence of renegades like Hasan Ali, who churn up their potion of prophecies to delude and deceive the people.

It is absurd and incomprehensible that a merger between DAP and Singapore's PAP would ever happen as they are political entities of two different countries with ideologies of their own.

Hasan's intention is clear; he hoped to create animosity and fear among the Muslims what a Pakatan-led government would bring by using his Machiavellian ways to spread lies and hogwash.

Hello: Hasan Ali is playing the ‘R' (race and religion) card to the hilt. This is very dire for the country.

Why is he so callous as to wanting to cause much polarity among the races? Doesn't he know that this is a very dangerous game? Will his thirst be quenched with another May 13?

But what can we expect from a closet racist turned open racist, especially one that has a history connected with Biro Tatanegara?

WangMalaysia: I am disappointed with Hasan Ali... he should have brought in the conspiracy theory of communism as well into the picture. No wonder, even Perkasa would not take him in.

Progressive: Hasan Ali is no fool. He knows his audience well. And he knows which button to press. He is playing the religious card - Christians out to convert Muslims. And he is playing the racial card, too.

Also he is appealing to the insecurity of a section of the Malay community vis-a-vis the Chinese. Then he is creating fear of the DAP by linking it to the PAP of Singapore.

His grand design is working.

Hasan Ali has the right to express his views. But we need to rebut his arguments. We need to question his integrity - that he was an Umno mole in PAS. And we need to expose him - he accumulated enough skeletons in the closet while he was an exco in Selangor.

With Umno's help, he is trying to build the third force to prevent Pakatan Rakyat from taking Putrajaya. Call him a fool at your own peril. Ignoring him would be an even bigger mistake.

Onyourtoes: Put it this way, Hasan. It is always easy to appeal to the raw sentiment of the people using race and religion.

When you first joined PAS, I am sure you had very good reasons, one of which was probably you were very unhappy with BN's policy and the way they manage the country.

But now what are you shouting about? Didn't what you claim to uphold now are those that Umno-BN was trying to do all these years? Yes, to protect race, religion and the royal institution, but ask yourself how these things that you hold dear have furthered the cause of this country?

In case you don't get it, your notion of race is parochialism, your notion of religion is bigotry and your royal institution is actually how corrupted politicians making use it to further their own narrowed and corrupted ambition.

Don't be a phoney, Hasan, the whole world knows all about you.

Sadirah: Only a bankrupt politician will play on the fears of people. He has nothing concrete to offer. He is more concerned with moral policing than helping people realise God.

The problem with this nation does not lie with the non-Malays but with people like you who are threatened purely because you lack the capacity to have a big heart.

Kee Thuan Chye: Hasan Ali is delusional. How did he dream up this hare-brained idea that DAP would merge Malaysia with Singapore into a republic? How is that possible?

DAP would have to have two-thirds majority in Parliament to move for a merger. Even then, it would have to dismantle the Malay royalty. How could they possibly do that in a Malay-majority country?

He would be mad to think it's that easy. There would be an uprising against it. Saying such things without logical reasoning is absolutely irresponsible. Where is the evidence for him to say that the DAP would abolish Article 153? It's utter rubbish.

TVGS: Hasan, it's better that we be part of Indonesia, a genuine republic, rather than Singapore, which is almost autocratic. And Indonesia is doing fine, don't you think?
