Who gives a loan with such favourable terms?

YOURSAY 'MACC must investigate the government for giving out the RM250 million NFC loan without stipulating conditions.'

NFC: Loan deal doesn't bar property investments

your say 2cts Worth: Atrociously salaried NFC CEO Wan Shahinur Izmir Salleh, I believe a loan is given on careful study of the viability of a project it is applied for.

As an example, you cannot apply for a housing loan and start a second-hand car business Without an iota of expertise on cow breeding, your esteemed family got the National Feedlot Centre loan it seems without any terms and conditions.

Really what is the loan agreement about? Take the RM250 million and do as you deem fit? Which finance company would give such a loan?

Keanjin: The terms and conditions for the RM250 million government soft loan to the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) must be the best agreement ever for the borrower.

You will never ever can find in any bank can provide this kind of loan. This is as good as no need to pay back.

1. Who's responsible for approving the loan?

2. Who's the real person behind this arrangement?

3. How many people are involved?

4. Who released this loan?

5. Why the PM has say nothing about this?

Jeremy Ng: Izmir is right. The special loan given by the government did not stipulate usage. It looks like the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) must question and investigate the government for giving out the loan without stipulating conditions.

Multi Racial: Not only those from NFC have got to explain, I want the government to explain why they disburse the loan when it was not needed at that time.

Why they disbursed the loan when the viability study was still in progress? Why there is no condition mentioned in the agreement to prohibit the borrowers to do stupid and risky things like this NFC family?

Why the loan interest is well below market rate? No wonder Pemandu chief Idris Jala said this country is going bankrupt.

Sarawakian_3ff9: Why aren't the properties concerned are not registered under NFC, but under their individual names?

This is going to open a can of worms. Now anyone can ask for a government loan on the pretext of certain business but then use the money for other purposes.

And why are all the BN leaders keeping so quiet on this?

Joker: No wonder PTPTN (National Higher Education Fund) has problem recovering its loans to students.

It seems like if you take money from the government, it is no longer considered public money and you can use it for whatever purposes unless it has been specifically stated in the loan agreement.

I doubt the PTPTN loan agreement expressly prohibits the student from using the money to buy smartphones (for Internet research), fancy dinner and shopping (to release stress) and even drugs (to expand one's experience).

Changeagent: "The property market is sound and secure, more protected and less volatile than others."

Well said, Izmir. I wonder why you and your family even bother with cows.

AleeNadim: Pinch me, please. I am not getting this at all. Loan disbursed before viability study. Fully disbursed before it is needed. No need for personal guarantee. Can use loan money for anything.

I like this government very much. Such big loan, very kind with terms and conditions, no security never mind.

Also I think, if cannot pay back, never mind. Nice people in this government, please don't forget to vote for them again.

Pakman: Izmir, please do not show your stupidity by uttering nonsense. The RM250 million loan is to help the Malaysian public to have a reasonable supply of beef at reasonable prices.

The money belong to the Malaysian public, especially taxpayers. Don't think that the Malaysian public are that stupid to accept your reasons.

Up2U: How can others apply for such soft loans at 2% per annum interest? Banks even pay fixed depositors more than 3% per annum.

When one tells a lie, one has to tell more lies to cover the earlier lie. I believe the company directors may have violated the Companies Act by borrowing money from the company.

The soft loan given by the government to these very privileged Malays was for a specific purpose and they have abused it.

Anonymous_3f55: Enough said, I think all of us have been taken for a ride by this fiasco.

If the authorities, police, MACC, AG (attorney-general) can't find evidence of wrongdoing, I say the people should take it to the streets and demonstrate in front of NFC's office - let's call it Operation OccupyCow.

Clever Voter: We would like to view the copy of the loan agreement, and use this as a template when getting loans from the government.
