How difficult is it to approve HRP's application?

VOXPOP 'It is a shame that a person has to go to court to compel the home minister to give a reply. Is this not arrogance?'

14 days for home minister to approve or reject HRP

Vijay47: P Uthayakumar and HRP (Human Rights Party) are not out of the woods yet. The minister will cunningly give a reply within the time stipulated by the court that the application is rejected.

Then the matter would end there, since I am sure the law on the registration of a party will state that the minister's decision is final and cannot be challenged. Then again, I could be wrong.

Baiyuensheng: I think this government has lost the ability to govern. A simple thing like this and we need the court to 'summon' them to do their job - malu-lah (shame).

Kangaroo: It is a shame that a person has to go to court to compel the home minister to give a reply. Is this not arrogance?

Anonymous_3fc4: This home minister does not observe the law of the country. He thinks he is above the law and he does not care what the court says.

He thinks he is immune from prosecution just because he holds the post of home minister and can do as he pleases. No doubt, he belongs to the Umnoputeras - they are the law.

Anak Bangsa Malaysia: HRP will not be registered as it does not have former prime minister Dr Mohamad Mahathir as its patron, unlike Perkasa.

Mohideen: If BN could approve Perkasa within days, we find it odd that they cannot approve HRP.

I think Pakatan Rakyat will approve HRP within days of capturing Putrajaya. They seem to be more open to the rights of everyone.

Solaris: How difficult would it be for the minister to reject the application?

Felda co-op cancels EGM after court injunction

Swkdayaks: Just be brave and wise, my brothers and sisters in Felda. Don't let Umno mislead, manipulate and oppress you.

Umno wants your votes, that is all. After they win the election, they make millions of ringgit out of you (Felda). Your votes keep them in power and with that power, they will bully and cheat you again.

Free yourself from Umno. Vote PKR and PAS. These are parties led by Malays/Muslims like you. Their leaders will be your ministers when you vote to make them the government.

So don't worry. There will be no loss of Malay political power in Malaysia when the opposition parties defeat Umno and the BN to form a new government.

In Kelantan, Kedah and Selangor where Pakatan is the government, the MBs are all Malays/Muslims. There is also no loss of Malay rights in these states.

Malaysiawatch4.blogspot: Well done to the Felda settlers. This is a sure way to prevent dilution of the bumiputera share of the economy.

Tsc: Felda settlers and their descendants are wiser today. I pray that they will do the right thing at GE13 to boot out Umno and co.

No4beend: The ‘strategic partners' must be a frustrated lot as the chance to fleece Felda is now put on halt. As if we are so stupid not to understand why the ‘strategic partners' are needed in this case.

These so-called ‘strategic partners' are the conduit to the power that master minded the cheating scheme as in many others privatisation in the past by the BN government.

Fair Play: In a 12-round fight, Round 1 goes to Anak (National Felda Settlers' Children's Association).

But the fight is far from over. Anak should brace itself for more onslaughts.

Jessie Ooi decries harassment, vows legal action

Leon Chan: Dear Jessie Ooi, the comments made by public did not defamed you. You were defamed by your own ill-mannered behaviour and actions during the debate's question time.

You should have known one cannot think properly when he or she is emotional. I hope you realise your own shortcoming and improve on it.

Just apologise and the public will forgive you. Simple as that.

Anak Kedah: Perhaps Jessie should realised that she was being emotional and was just plainly hysterical. She should have surrendered the microphone to others who were more coherent.

I believe she is still immature and lacks leadership qualities. She just wanted to grab the microphone for her five minutes of fame.

LGE (Lim Guan Eng), if anything, seemed flabbergasted at her antics. CSL (Chua Soi Lek), I think this girl needs more training before you can unleashed her on the unsuspecting public.

Ipoh Mali: And yet you slandered and harassed LGE without remorse and regret. Will you not admit you were attacking him to try and score cheap points and help your failing party?

Won't you apologise for embarrassing all Malaysians with your unprovoked tirade and unrelated political screaming? Most importantly, won't you apologise to LGE for a totally fictitious and bogus claim?

You aspire to be a politician and yet you have not mastered the ability to control your emotions and put together a coherent question. Do yourself and your party a favour and find another career. Politics is more than having a big mouth.

You are not cut out to be a leader, much less a lawmaker. Your threat to take legal action does not impress anyone.

How will you face stalwart politicians from Pakatan? Will you scream at them too in the streets, state assemblies and Parliament?

CHKS: Many of us who are in our 20s to 40s are very hurt; we fought hard, we studied hard, we witnessed our parents working hard, saving every dime; some of us are fortunate enough to get a good tertiary education, while many of our friends and siblings are not; we witness some of the majority race breezing their way through matriculation, many getting into local universities; we witnessed massive corruption and squandering of our wealth by some politicians while we slave away paying high taxes; we witnessed sex scandals here and there, and we witnessed in newspaper, TV, online media crude words from some politicians.

Jessie, you are also in your 30s, but you have good political connection; you have ‘cables'; and compare to the hurt done to many of us, your tow-truck incident is just a mere inconvenience.
