'Prove it, prove it', but expect no probe

YOURSAY 'We can't expect crooks to investigate crooks. There is enough justification for a RCI, and please don't let Najib choose the panel members.

Proof that Hisham wants for Copgate 'already given'

your say Pemerhati: It should be very obvious by now that Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein is deliberately trying to cover up the matter because he and Umno are in cahoots with the police and the AG (attorney-general) to help Umno carry out its various illegal and criminal activities.

Some examples are: Helping in the Umno-organised cow-head and pig-head incidents by not taking firm action against the culprits; allowing Umno's thugs to intimidate and assault the opposition members during their gatherings; taking draconian measures against those who took part in rallies to protest against BN's injustices and cheating (e.g. Hindraf and Bersih); protecting and shielding the mastermind behind Altantuya Shaariibuu's murder; taking no action against the powerful corrupt Umno thieves who steal billions (e.g. Mahathir Mohamad and Najib Razak) while carrying out show trials against a few people (e.g. Mohd Khir Toyo, Ling Liong Sik and some cow-head and porn video participants) to fool the public into thinking that BN does not condone any illegal activity or corruption.

Malaysia ABU: Mr Home Minister said: "Prove it, prove it. If they prove it, we can take action."

This shows he has totally no idea what his duties are, or think that the people are as stupid as he. There are sufficient prima facie evidence and witnesses to bring the AG and ex-IGP (inspector-general of police) to a tribunal.

You are not a judge that we have to prove it to you. Your duty is to inform the PM to advise Agong to set up a tribunal.

Lim Chong Leong: The evidence that are in AG or home minister's possession are already destroyed. That is why he so confidently asked Malaysiakini to "prove it, prove it".

The modus operandi of the AG and Umno goons are typical. They see a SD (statutory declaration) not favourable to them, they will seek to change it the next day.

Look at the case involving private investigator P Balasubramaniam.

Mat Malaysia: Hishammuddin, the lawyer who represented former Commercial Crimes Investigation Department chief Ramli Yusuff practises in your former law firm. Did you pick up the phone and discuss it with him?

Instead you allowed the gangsters from the ACA (now MACC) to drag him out of your office, handcuff and throw him into a dungeon at their headquarters over Hari Raya Puasa.

What kind of person are you? I feel sorry for your grandfather.

Zafarul Hassan: This is rather funny. In certain cases, it is the accused who needs to prove that the accusation is not truth while in other cases, it is the other way round.

Peacemaker: The fact that former CCID chief Ramli has agreed to testify in any tribunal against AG Abdul Gani Patail, ex-IGP Musa Hassan and the ACA (MACC) indicates the complainant has proof.

We demand Hishammuddin suspend Abdul Gani and set up a RCI (royal commission of inquiry) immediately. This is of public concern and specific in nature. If not, what reform is the government talking about?

Kgen: We can't expect crooks to investigate crooks. There is enough justification for a royal commission of inquiry, and please don't let Najib choose the panel members.

Docs: There is an unholy alliance at work here - Hishammuddin, Musa and Abdul Gani.

No need for new probe into Copgate, says minister

Free Thinker: Hisham, who are you to decide whether case is closed and that you won't review the decision?

Are you telling us that if, for example, a murder case which is closed due to lack of evidence, can't be re-opened when we find new solid evidence to proceed?

What kind of minister/lawyer are you? Yesterday, you said you want proof, and when today somebody said the proof has already been send to your ministry, now you are saying why open the case.

Wira: The home minister threw a challenge which he had no intention of honouring.

Ksn: So, case closed? Hisham should tell the country who conducted the said investigations and who were the IGP and the AG then.

If they are the same two gentlemen accused of wrongdoing in the letter sent to then deputy internal security minister Johari Baharum, the investigations did not carry any credibility.

Why not reopen the case with a new team of independent investigators if there is nothing to cover up?

Gobsmacked!: Surely we as concerned citizens have a right to know why the Home Ministry did not take any action the last time?

Such serious allegations need to be investigated and disposed off. Does the government not care about the credibility of its senior civil servants?

More importantly, does it care at all about the concern of its citizens?

Nik V: There is a belief that it takes a generation or two to destroy an empire. So here goes PM Najib Razak and Hisham, who are both cousins in crime.

Whatever respect and goodwill both their fathers had gained as former prime ministers has been destroyed by their sons' greed for power and lack of integrity in doing the business of politics.

Politicians rightfully should fight for the greater good of all the citizens. But instead we have these two who are only fighting to become PMs, the latter waiting his turn.
