Step aside Najib, Dr M is still PM

YOURSAY 'Mahathir is sending out a warning that BN will re-instate ISA if they return to power with a huge majority.'

Dr M: Give Najib a stronger gov't to revive ISA

your say Quigonbond: Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad is just speaking what has become expected of him. Obviously Pakatan Rakyat is not confident of winning in a fight where the dice is loaded against them.

If RTM airs opposition views, if mainstream media gets to publish untainted opposition views into the far reaches of rural areas, if electoral rolls were clean, if electoral process is free from fraud, if foreign domiciled Malaysian citizens can vote, and if the Elections Commission is actually neutral, then the civil society would not need to take the streets to demand for electoral reform.

That the government won't budge just goes to show how secure they are that their fraud has gone so deep there is no way to reverse a win for BN.

BN should however be conscious that a general elections won on the back of fraud will only result in an eventual Malaysian Spring.

Mahathir's right about one thing: the people must think long and hard - do you want a corrupt government that's wasting valuable public funds to rule another five years?

Tai Li Lin: Thank you, Dr M, for giving us a very good reason why BN government must not return to power with a two-thirds majority.

He forget that part of the reasons why people do not vote for BN is because of the ISA (Internal Security Act). Now, Dr M is sending out a warning that BN will re-instate ISA if they return to power with a huge majority. Let's make sure this does not happen.

Not Confused: Oh dear, this is an obvious case of advanced senility. We should all pity him and not patronise him.

On reflection, it seems that the signs of this deterioration in his brain activity seems to have appeared around 30 years ago - about the time he became PM.

This explains the accompanying deterioration in the country's international standing, currency exchange rate, per capita income and the related increase in corruption.

It's our own fault that we were blind to the obvious signs and continued to be in denial by continuing to vote for his government. Unfortunately, it is probably too late to expect him to recognise his advanced state of deteriorated brain function.

It may be difficult for those who have been particularly blind to his affliction to accept his current condition, but for the sake of the nation's future, we must be cruel to be kind to the next generation of Malaysia - vote for the opposition and ignore his ranting for he knows not what he is saying.

Survivor: Mahathir, are you playing reverse psycology to tell the people not to support Najib or else the country will have a revival of the ISA?

Anonymous #18452573: Malaysians truly have to choose well, just like their counterparts in the rest of the world that open their hearts and minds to a freer world and to hold their politicians accountable.

The people of Tunisia chose change. Egypt chose change. Libya chose change. Yemen chose change. Then came Bahrain and Syria. And now the people of France have chosen change.

That power must return to the people who are the true stakeholders and not the other way round.

Listen to Mahathir, PM Najib Razak, DPM Muhyiddin Yassin, and you will forever live in fear of your fellow Malaysians and continue to look at issues along racial and religious lines.

Queenie: Mahathir, do not put words into the mouth of PAS spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat. He did not say it was alright to bring down the government through an uprising.

He said it was permissible to rally for clean and fair elections. You truly are a vindictive and evil man.

Democrat: Mahathir is living in fear of his own past. He does not want the opposition to win because the past will catch up with him.

Cannon: Umno Baru does not have any good leg to stand on. Widely perceived as sleazy, sinister and scandalous, this totally discredited party is incapable of making the change, clinging to its special tribal rights under the guise of protecting Malay privileges.

The party has no credible leader who can stop the rot and reverse Umno from spiraling into self-destruction.

Mahathir, by his statement, has just confirmed that the so-called liberalisation of our draconian laws by Najib is merely a smokescreen to buy time for Umno.

What weed is Mahathir smoking for him to figure out Umno can survive him, let alone win a stronger majority to bring back the ISA.

Kingfisher: While the present PM is trying to improve democratic benchmarks in national life, Mahathir seems to articulate cock-eyed scheme for the future of the nation.

It appears that in a cocky manner, he seemingly does not think ordinary Malaysians have moved beyond his leadership values of yesteryears.

This is humiliating and there appears to be something ‘half past six' about his logic.

James1067: The idea of abolishing ISA is just a publicity stunt to gain more support in the next election.

When they win, ISA will then be reintroduced to reign terror against opposition members of parliament and any Malaysian that they claim is a terrorist.

The cat is out of the bag - Mahathir have openly said that they actually have no intention to abolish ISA.

Jean Pierre: I am dismayed that many readers here are calling Mahathir crazy. He is just being his cunning self.
