Butt-burger and Bersih: Like chalk and cheese

YOURSAY 'With his warped sense of what is right and wrong, and complete lack of integrity, it is a wonder people are even listening to Ibrahim Ali.'

'Bersih rally worse than burger, butt protests'

your say Changeagent: How can one even begin to compare the Bersih 3.0 rally with the burger and butt protests?

One is concerned with the implementation of free and fair elections in the country, enhancing and strengthening the democratic process so that all Malaysians can have unwavering confidence that the electoral system is free from rigging and manipulation by any one political party.

The other is just a public nuisance and harassment that serves no meaningful purpose other than to intimidate the chief organiser of the recent rally.

One did not inconvenience anyone other than the ruling elites and their cronies who are trying desperately to hang on to power at all costs. The other is an inconvenience to everybody, especially to the local residents of Damansara Heights.

The difference is like chalk and cheese.

Fz2379: It is quite understandable that the Chinese and some Indians want to break the Malay grip on political power in this country. This is a free country. It is your democratic right to vote which ever way you want.

But that does not mean that you should use all kinds of hypocrite, vile, fraudulent, deceitful, diabolical and corrupt-to-the-hilt-thieves to achieve your objective.

Not Convinced: Fz2379, are you referring to Bersih 3.0 protesters or Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali?

The way most people see it, the "hypocrite, vile, fraudulent, deceitful, diabolical and corrupt-to-the-hilt-thieves" label is more apt for Ibrahim and the Umno goons.

1 Melayu 1 Bahasa 1 Malaysia: Those who attend the Bersih 3.0 are not paid, the normal small man on the streets whose wish is to see Malaysia being managed properly, where justice, fair play, mutual respect and peaceful harmonious co-existence are being upheld.

The more the BN government behave irrationally and erratically, the more the rakyat will be determined to stand for justice and change.

Every time Perkasa speaks, more nails are being hammered into the BN coffin.

Not Confused: Pathetic. There is absolutely no comparison between a protest rally of over 200,000 concerned citizens lobbying for action against what is seen widely as a corrupt and unfair election process, and a few silly little people demonstrating outside a private home.

Don't they realise that there were 200,000 people at the Bersih rally, not just S Ambiga herself?

This is stupidity of the highest order, but then what else do we hear from Ibrahim Ali and his brand of ‘mat rempit' followers.

Pondering Why: This unworthy individual (Ibrahim Ali) is not worthy to be commented upon. He takes up useful press space with his total irrelevance.

A totally pathetic individual being propped by another evil individual. Pathetic individuals trying their best to be relevant when everyone knows that they are heading into the oblivion.

I hope you and your kind disappear and never reappear again.

Absolom: Why anyone or group would associate with this guy is in itself a big mystery. With his warped sense of what is right and wrong, and complete lack of integrity, it is a wonder people are even listening to him.

Malaysiakini would do well not to publish what this guy says because nobody cares anymore what perverted logic will ooze out.

Bob Teoh: If this is the quality of our lawmakers like Pasir Mas MP Ibrahim Ali, then there's very little future.

Faz: Gutter politics will always be here as long as there are the likes of Ibrahim Ali and his determined-to-be-heard detractors.

To rebut IA (Ibrahim Ali) is like giving him a platform which he doesn't deserve. His comments should be accompanied with dignified silence as a sign of total rejection since he and Perkasa do not understand anything.

They are just rabble-rousers with no cause apart from justifying the existence of Umno-BN. Most Malaysians know better.

2cts Worth: Ibrahim Ali, you need to expand your grey cells. Your thoughts are infantile and make little sense. You are an embarrassment to the country.

Equating Bersih 3.0 to the burgers and butts protests indicates the level of your intelligence, which is really nothing to shout about.

If you need to demonstrate, go to a public area. Don't intrude into personal privacy. How would you like Bersih to gather at the entrance to your house?

You look quite clever, only if you don't open your mouth.

Aishah: Perkasa is a pain in the butt for Umno. Whatever it does, it hastens the demise of Umno. Do more, Perkasa.
