Returning officers trained to bail out BN?

YOURSAY ‘The first and the final rule for an RO should be to remain like a rock and stay completely neutral.'

Nurul Izzah: Returning officer said I'll not win again

your say Ksn: Some cheek the returning officer (RO) has. It's an absolute disgrace. Does that not convey the clear message about the Election Commission (EC)?

Has Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar reported him to the EC and the police? Not that it will make any difference, just for the record.

AnakBangsaMalaysia: As I recall, this was the same RO who attempted to help bring in 13 boxes of 'new ballot papers' that suddenly surfaced after the counting and several vote recounts had finished, in an apparent desperate attempt to tamper with the vote and help National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) queen Shahrizat Abdul Jalil win the election illegally.

Fortunately there were enough people present to prevent the blatant electoral fraud from happening. Why is he still walking around a free man?

I hope MP Nurul Izzah will identify the RO so that the election monitors like TindakMalaysia, UndiMalaysia and Mafrel can mark him as one of the ‘Unclean'.

LittleGiant: The rude response by this RO is just an example to show how ROs are being "trained" to be prepared to do anything to save BN in GE13.

The first and the final rule for an RO should be to remain like a rock and stay completely neutral, whatever the circumstances or the outcome. It looks like that paramount rule has been demolished by the EC.

IloveBN: By saying that, the RO has influenced the rakyat more to vote for YB Nurul. We want you to be the PM. First Malaysian woman PM.

AngryBird: If what is said is true, the EC stinks worse than skunks. This is how low Umno-BN can stoop to stay in power.

Vgeorgemy: The poor guy might have lost out on a lucrative government business deal for his children and he is linking that with his job as RO in last election.

This is the problem when civil servants forget about their primary role in the administration of the country.

Anonymous #79199503: The BN parties are throwing free dinners everywhere. The coffeeshop talk is that BN realises that it may not win the 13th general election (GE13). Therefore, just spend and hand over a bankrupt Malaysia to the Pakatan Rakyat.

Starr: Of course, Umno-BN are worried of the likes of Nurul Izzah, Rafizi Ramli, Gobind Singh Deo, Nizar Jamaluddin, Lim Guan Eng, Tony Pua and other young and aspiring leaders of Pakatan for they represent the future of the country.

It's the duty of the rakyat to return them in the next general election.

Absalom: Firstly, the people who are entrusted with a responsibility that requires impartiality and integrity such as the EC (including ROs) or the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) or police or whatever, if they abuse their position, take sides, penalise or victimise people fighting for their rights or watchdog NGOs, these are the real enemies of king and country.

For those in this category, please don't bother praying, your place in hell is reserved.

Secondly it is a shocking embrassment to the country if whistleblowers such as PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli and Nurul Izzah are harrased and persecuted while the real criminals remain absolutely untouchable. Perhaps some in the judiciary have reservations as well.

Anonymous #03078561: Malaysian politics is getting into USA-style Mafia. People of Malaysia, collectively pray for the safety and well-being of our good young leaders. We have people power - be prepared to take to the streets if these young people are taken without warrant or trial.

Nurul is right to be worried - there is a plot (if you read blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin) from former finance minister Daim Zainuddin down to the RO to ensure Umno's Federal Territory and Urban Well-being Minister Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin is elected.

Let us also pray that Allah will open the eyes of the simple and trusting voters in Lembah Pantai and that they will not be taken in by bribes of free food, cash and big talk from Nong Chik and his crew.

All Malaysians, unite for this once to rid Malaysia of Umno and its greedy arrogant leaders, as well as MCA, MIC and Gerakan. Be on the lookout for all sorts of desperate moves by Umno to stay in power.

Democrat: I really can't understand such officers. They are not fit to hold office. Let's all pray Rafizi will be around and become a minister in the next cabinet. We need you, brother.

OMG: At the last GE, Nurul won unexpectedly (in BN's eyes). This time, BN will be prepared. I don't think they will risk another loss.
