YOURSAY 'With impunity and impudence, they keep on with reporting lies, half truths and run seditious articles that inflame hatred.'

Utusan editor repeatedly apologises to Karpal

your say Lin Wenquan: DAP leader Karpal Singh should pursue this case until Utusan Malaysia pays for its inveterate tendency to write highly informatory articles that stoke religious and racial animosity.

News editor Zulkifli Jalil may apologise a thousand times but that's Utusan' s dirty culture. There will be other maggots like him in the Utusan cesspool who will continue to engage in brinkmanship to subvert the already fragile racial, religious and social fabric of this country.

Don't expect them to be contrite over the scurrilous articles they churn out time and again with Umno's tacit approval as they are the 'untouchables'.

Changeagent: Just pay DAP leader Karpal Singh RM10 million in damages. It is our tax money anyway. Better for him to channel it to better use as he deems appropriate than for it to go into the pocket of another elite Umno crony.

Hang Tuah PJ: Don't give in. Sue their pants off and make sure they pay until they go bankrupt and cannot print anymore lies.

Anonymous1234@: Don't bullshit here Zulkifi, rejecting an Islamic state is way, way different from rejecting Islam as the country's religion.

How stupid can all BN-linked crony be? Even if you translate these statements to Malay, it cannot be what was published in Utusan . This is pure malicious intent.

Gen2: The Quran says it is haram to bear false witness. Utusan has done that repeatedly and still claim to be good Muslims. The Quran has another word for these kind of people - munafik .

Democrat: Now, now guys. Let us accept the apology only as a mitigating factor. The news editor may get away with it, but not Utusan .

I hope the judge will understand the fact that it's the Umno-linked top editors who spin or force their journalists to write this way.

I appeal to the judge to make Utusan pay for their sins to mankind. The owners and editors must be a taught an expensive and painful lesson.

Avatar1: If the Malays were to take the article as truth and a racial riot were to break out... will the apologies from this editor justifies the chaos caused? Utusan needs to be taught a lesson in journalism - to be ethical and professional.

Sarajun Hoda: Karpal, don't give in to the apology and do not stop halfway. Punish Utusan so hard until it has to close down tomorrow. No mercy please. They had their day. Today is your day.

Mirror On The Wall: With impunity and impudence, they keep on with reporting lies, half truths and run seditious articles that inflame hatred.

It reflects the lackadaisical culture of the owners towards racism and their primary aim of sowing the seeds of discontent. These are signs and symptoms of the death throes of an incompetent regime on its final legs.

Anonymous #55961902: Utusan group editor-in-chief Abdul Aziz Ishak confirmed in court that their duty is to spin and tell lies about the opposition, in particular DAP whom they brand them as anti-Islam and anti-Malays.

Utusan editors and writers are paid just to do that. Damage has been done and no amount of apologies can repair the damages inflicted on Karpal Singh.

The court must charged and jailed the writer for putting words in others people's mouth. This will be a lesson to all other writers to think before writing any article.

Swipenter: Utusan has proven to lie consistently and if taken to court for publishing lies and if found guilty, they just pay the fines and resumes writing articles and reports of such nature. They never learn for obvious reasons.

Anbalagan_2187: Let's be real here. You think any of the court action against Utusan can stop them from their gravely dangerous reporting?

The paper is out to cause maximum damage by hook or crook to Pakatan Rakyat. Anyway, they are authorised by PM Najib Razak and gang and supported by all the government institutions.

Even if Utusan is asked to pay RM10 million in damages, it is peanuts to them as they are funded by Umno using corruptly earned money from the poor rakyat. Utusan would have long been bankrupt had it not being Umno's paper.

Even up till today, its front-page again carries a report trying to influence its readers to favour Umno-BN. These idiots can only be stopped when Pakatan comes to power.

FellowMalaysian: The main culprit is Umno as they own Utusan and use Ut usan as their vocal chord against anyone who opposes its rule.

Lies and deceits are spun to incite its readers for the sake of gaining a few votes. The uninitiated will be bought over.

There is just a dire lack of ethics in our newspapers today and professionalism in journalism is almost non-existent.

Lover Boy: The apology by Utusan is a surprise to me. We have heard that Utusan chief editor has come out in the open that its editorial policy is bias against the opposition and favours the government of the day. Now seriously what is this apology all about?

We, the public, know that Utusan will spin lies, refuse to carry the views of the opposition. With an apology of this nature against the backdrop of its bias editorial policy, how sincere can this apology be?

The report accusing Karpal as anti-Islam is serious, it could have caused him his life. I say Karpal, there is no regret and there is no need to be contrite about such apology for it is not sincere.

I say go after them for the RM10 million that you ask for. Utusan can afford it with Umno backing them.

Timothy: This is how Utusan works. Do as much harm as possible through spinning, fabrication and lies. When maximum harm is achieved, then they can do a 'thousand meaningless apologies' when forced to.

Dear Karpal, just sue them for the RM10 million. Take the money and put it to good use.

Taikohtai: I think Utusan knows that they are blatantly wrong in this particular case, hence their profuse apologies. But did Utusan learn from their past errors? No!

They have since moved on to even fiercer attacks and spins knowing very well the authorities are all anti-opposition at the federal level. So Utusan must face the music and hopefully the presiding judge will throw the book at Utusan .

Anonymous #18452573: Karpal Singh appears to be a stubborn man. Stubborn with consistency, goodness, frankness, honesty, character, courage, fairness and a whole lot of more good than bad.

Stay stubborn and sue and correct Utusan on their deceit, manipulations and lies. Sorry don't make it right since Utusan has made it a habit of defaming and inflaming.

Green Mutant: There is no sincerity in Utusan's apologies. In fact, they already admitted that they do it on purpose and the end justifies the means. Apologise today, lie tomorrow and again and again thereafter. It's a shame to humankind.

KJ John: In Malay, it is said, "padan muka!"
