Puad: Unreasonable to hold 'V-neck Day'

Tailek: Deputy Education Minister Puad Zarkashi, in the first place it was the Education Ministry which tried to stereotype lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. So don't come and cry about it now when others take the mickey out of you.

Let us all wear tight V-necks with the deputy minister's face on it. That will be a good lesson to him to exercise more tolerance.

Not Confused: This deputy minister needs his head examined. His department hosted a seminar at which the guidelines were presented. They then claimed that the ministry did not issue or support these guidelines. What idiocy!

Now he complains that to organise a V-Neck day on Oct 1 is taking the issue too lightly? What half-baked logic is that?

It's obvious to me and I would think any right-minded person that the V-Neck Day is to highlight the stupidity of such ‘guidelines' and contrary to Puad's postulation, is a result of taking the issue very seriously.

KSD: Dear Puad, it's easy to defuse this issue. Ask all cabinet ministers and as well as Education Ministry officials and teachers to wear V-neck tees on Monday.

That will really prove your statement that there are no guidelines.

Enlightened: We, the rakyat , will tell you what is reasonable and what isn't. There is no law which says we cannot get together and wear V-necks.

Only last year, police were harassing people wearing yellow T-shirts. I don't have a V-neck T-shirt, but I will now need to buy one.

Changeagent: Puad Zarkashi, wearing V-neck T-shirts doesn't make you gay. Just as doing butt exercises doesn't make you a patriot.

Sabahan: If the Education Ministry did not endorse those guidelines, why make a fuss if some groups want to have a V-neck Day?

We must treat others as we want to be treated ourselves, and not question or look down upon the creations of the Almighty, whatever race or sex we are.

We are all equals. Even for the simple minds, live and let live and do not interfere in what your neighbour is doing - it is none of your business.
