Did Megat Junid get instructions from his boss?
YOURSAY ‘It is now not a case of rabbits out of the hat, it is worms out of the can. Two to three months to go and we will see what else comes out.'
Starr: It is no farther from the true that federal leaders and ministers have been involved in one way or the other in the issuing MyKad to illegals in return for vote.
That's an illegal act against the interests of Sabah, its people and the country, even though these immigrants are Muslim.
Without the tacit approval and direction from the federal leaders and ministers, no one can explain the quadrupled increase in population since 1970.
The evidence from one historian at the RCI that there was a quantum leap in population increase in 1991 is most significant as it marked the entry of Umno into Sabah.
In an attempt to change the political landscape of the state to ensure Umno's electoral victory and seize power from the then PBS government, a huge amount of illegals were issued MyKad in return for vote causing a spike in the state's population.
That's the honest truth. Every decent Sabahan knows it. Anyone denying it is downright dishonest and lying through his/her teeth.
Ksn: Former Sabah National Registration Department (NRD) director Ramli Kamaruddin, you knew that the instructions from the then deputy home minister was illegal and that you were not required to follow them.
Why did you commit the illegal act which was against national interests? Are you not ashamed to come before the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on Immigrants in Sabah and confess your cowardice now that the damage has been done?
Keturunan Malaysia: It is now not a case of rabbits out of the hat, it is worms out of the can. Two to three months to go and we will see what else comes out.
Mahashitla: The mother of all electoral fraud was committed in Sabah and this will likely be replicated in the peninsula come the 13 th general election with the help of the Election Commission (EC) and the National Registration Department (NRD) again.
Gggg: The Commonwealth should stop recognising the Malaysian voting system. This is travesty of justice involving the EC, which is supposed to be the guardian of fair elections. We want a royal commission of inquiry on this.
Onyourtoes: Surely then deputy home minister Megat Junid Megat Ayub can't be acting alone. He is now dead and gone.
May be we should ask the home minister at that time. He is old and senile but if we make him sit on ice, I am sure the truth will come up very quickly.
We now know who was the one who systematically and maliciously destroyed the demography and the inalienable rights of Sabahans.
Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Joseph Pairin Kitingan, you owe your people this much to leave BN now.
Fair Play: Megat Junid was but an instrument. Go after the perpetrators who are still around.
AnonMsia: In Malaysia, the deputy minister has limited authority and takes order from the full minister.
Megat Junid's boss (the home minister) who gave him the instruction and was fully responsible for the cheating at that time was Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Artchan: We don't need an RCI to do this. We all know what happened. How else can you explain the sudden rise in numbers of voters?
What we want to know is what action will be taken to send the crooks to jail? Or will it be just like the RCI on the Lingam tape ?
We all know he screwed the system and yet he walks free.
Lover Boy: I am flabbergasted by what I have read. The poor Sabahans were screwed by the Semenanjung senior politician in so many ways imaginable.
There is no limitations to the treason and I hope those responsible will be brought to book. Attorney-General's Chambers, I hope your chaps are ready to do their duties.
InPursuitofJustice: I hope this time the RCI will not be a toothless tiger again. God bless Sabah!
Joe Fernandez: It appears that many illegal immigrants were issued with MyKads just for the purpose of voting.
The MyKads, in a truth being stranger than fiction scenario, carried the names of other voters who were on the electoral rolls and generally didn't turn up to vote.
This explains the oft-reported stories in the local media of voters turning up to vote, only to be told that they "had already voted".
Ex-Prisons Department (PD) officials, when summoned before the RCI, are likely to spill even more beans.
An ex-PD official estimates that his department held 10,000 illegal immigrants between 1985 and 1994 for "fraudulently obtaining MyKads by furnishing false information to the authorities".
NRD Putrajaya, in all these cases, allegedly advised Immigration to drop charges against the detainees on the grounds that "they were Malaysians".
Based on what little has been revealed so far at the RCI, there's no reason for the 13th GE to go ahead in Sabah without the electoral rolls being made squeaky clean.
NewMalaysia: Any more stupid idiot still believes the EC is clean and fair? We call for the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and the EC chairperson Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof.
---------: Interesting, Anwar Ibrahim was the then deputy prime minister and also finance minister. He helped deliver Sabah back to BN.
Whether Mahathir is implicated or not, he is not seeking to continue as PM, but Anwar wants to be PM.
So can he testify at the RCI to confirm that he did not know about this as the deputy prime minister? I will be shocked if he was innocent.
AnonMsia: Mahathir has openly admitted that ICs and citizenship have been given by him as the head of federal government to these foreigners (on the basis of their ability to speak the Malay language ).
This RCI merely provides more details and confirms what is already widely known, especially in Sabah. No need to point fingers at Megat Junid or Anwar.
Odin: We don't have to have Holmes' or Poirot's power of deduction to conclude that Mahathir had ordered this as well as all the other related fraudulent acts.
If ever there was even an iota of doubt as to his depravity, this completely dispels it. This very representation of evil must be brought to book and punished severely. And no punishment is too severe for him.
