Two DAP members who lodged reports about their dissatisfaction over the party's election results will be called by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to give additional information.

Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said they are expected to be called by ROS very soon to submit their evidence or additional information to support their reports.

"They have said that they have certain evidence which must be forwarded to ROS. I think a meeting will be held very soon," he told reporters after the ministry’s Excellence Service Awards presentation ceremony in Putrajaya today.

On Jan 14, two life members of DAP - Ladang Paroi vice-chairman David Dass Aseerpatham and secretary Mahendran Krishnan - lodged reports with ROS over what they alleged to be manipulation of the party's election results.

In his speech earlier, Hishammuddin underlined eight important tasks to be carried out by the ministry this year. His speech text was read by his deputy Lee Chee Leong.

    

Among the tasks are to implement the second phase of the national key result areas to reduce crimes so that the people will feel safe and secured, he said.

Hishammuddin said focus would also be given to the implementation of effective communication so that the people and those with interests would be able to get accurate information on the ministry's policies, programmes, products and services.

"It is also important to improve cyber security for personal uses, as well as for the public and private sectors, and explain and implement the ‘Political Transformation Programme’ so that all threats on national peace and security can be tackled and balanced with human rights and civil freedom," he said.

Hishammuddin said the ministry would also continue reaching out to the non-governmental organisations and students, intensify its voluntary activities, and showing its appreciation to the staff.
