Great response to KiniBiz in first month
New business news portal KiniBiz has met with strong response from readers in its first month, with over 100,000 unique visitors clocking up over 700,000 page views during the period.
The visitors spent an amazing 25,000 hours on site.
"The numbers are extremely encouraging," said KiniBiz CEO Premesh Chandran.
"It shows that Malaysians are looking for a more independent source of business news and KiniBiz is on the right track," he added.
KiniBiz publisher and founding editor P Gunasegaram said he is heartened by the response to the editorial content.
"We will push on with our editorial content and will focus on getting more staff on board to increase the range and depth of our coverage.
"The starting point for any marketing has to be a good product and that means great content in this case.
"Our small team of writers have come up with over 30 exclusive stories in the past four weeks, we have explored in detail four issues with over 20 stories while we have had some 35 exclusive opinion pieces," he said.
KiniBiz is a joint venture between Malaysiakini and Gunasegaram. Malaysiakini's founders and major shareholders are Premesh Chandran and Steven Gan.

Keep Malaysiakini independent!
Malaysiakini will be 18 this year. That we’ve survived this long is because of you.
Your support matters. A lot. Especially those who pay RM150 annually, RM288 biennially or RM388 triennially to keep Malaysiakini independent from government/opposition influence and corporate interests. Advertising alone will not keep Malaysiakini afloat.
Together, we’ve gone far. We’ve covered three prime ministers, four general elections, five Bersih rallies, and countless scandals. But the journey continues.
Help us deliver news and views that matter to Malaysians. Help us make a difference for Malaysia.
