PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim said there is a likelihood that he will not defend the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat in the upcoming elections.

permatang pauh by election results map 260808 "I have received requests to contest in either Perak or Selangor. I have not made a decision yet," he told a press conference at the PKR headquarters today.

Anwar said there are possible candidates to take on Permatang Pauh, but his daughter Nurul Izzah Anwar does not appear to be one of them.

"She is already busy in Lembah Pantai, (so) why disturb her? Raja Nong Chik is already bothering her, that's enough," he said.

Anwar reconfirmed the candidacy of five PKR nominees for Sarawak parliamentary seats. Their names had previously been announced at the ceramah circuit around the state.

Baru Bian will contest in Limbang, Ali Biju in Saratok, Roland Engan in Baram, Abun Sui in Hulu Rejang and Abang Zulkifli in Batang Lupar.

‘Lawyer to handle Papagomo’

Anwar also said he would let his lawyers continue dealing with pro-Umno blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris - also known as Papagomo.

Papagomo had said yesterday that he would reveal more ‘wrongdoings’ if Anwar pursues a RM100 million defamation suit against him for exposing a sex video.

The footage is purported to feature Anwar with another man, but he has denied that it is him.

Papagomo had previously disseminated a sex video depicting a man who looks like Anwar and a woman.

Earlier today, Anwar launched a website called ‘Sarawak for Change’ with Sarawak PKR head Baru Bian.

This spearheads a drive to get every Malaysian to donate RM30 to help get Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud out of office.
