Wanita Umno is forming a special task force to safeguard the security of voters following reports which claimed that certain parties wanted to create chaos during polling for the 13th general election.  

NONE The movement's chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil today said they had started to strategise on deploying the special force to all polling centres nationwide.

According to her, the provocation was being planned by irresponsible parties as they were uneasy with the rising support for BN apart from preventing BN voters from exercising their right to vote.  

"The special task force will ensure all voters especially BN voters are able to cast their vote peacefully. We will cooperate with all authorities including the security forces," she said.

She was speaking to reporters after presenting 1Malaysia People's Welfare (Karisma@Hati Rakyat) vouchers to Desa Tasik police quarters residents in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur.

She was commenting on the exposure of a website which alleged a political party has apparently prepared a two-stage strategy to create chaos on polling day.

Sharizat also assured the voters that their safety would be secure and they need not worry about the latest development.

When asked whether she will be contesting in the coming general election, the former minister said "I am not contesting... I am not contesting... but I am in charge of the wanita machinery throughout the country."
