'Insurgents' wage war against Malaysia's voters

YOURSAY 'Bersih has fought against these ‘homegrown terrorists'. Sungai Buloh prison shall soon be Malaysia's Guantanamo.'

Umno man implicated in fraudulent voter registration

your say Ferdtan: Klang MP Charles Santiago said concerning the non-consensual registration of the voters who reside overseas: "It must have come from a government agency. No layman could have provided this information."

I agree with him. It happened to my relative who works in Singapore. She had voted once many years ago. The last election in March 2008, she found that she was ‘transferred' to a Felda settlement in another state without her knowledge.

This time, an application was made to the Election Commission (EC) and her record was corrected. For GE13, she will be coming home to vote.

Tiru: My daughter's case is also the same. I'm just curious to know what is the modus operandi and who is the mastermind behind this. Just one man alone cannot be responsible for this.

"His role as an assistant registrar has since been terminated, allegedly for fraudulent voter registration," reports Malaysiakini .

How come this was not made public earlier by EC. When found out, a scapegoat gets sacked. That's why I don't trust the EC. I will not give them any information so that they can make right a wrong (purposely done) .

Kennyv: I also know a friend who has just came back from the United States, never registered, but found out that he is registered by someone else.

People who have indicated their permanent resident status in other countries or studying/working overseas for a long duration and have never registered as voters should all check the EC website if they have "magically" been registered.

Homesick: Please can someone help or enlighten me on how to check my status as far as voting is concerned. I am residing abroad and have been away from home for a long time.

But I do go home very often. I have never voted before and I'm not registered to vote in this coming GE13. I do not want to be a phantom voter for the corrupt BN regime. Thank you and sorry for being so naive.

Timothy: Dear Homesick, I just checked mine from overseas. If you are a registered voter, you can check your status at the EC website.

Go to 'Semakan Daftar Pemilih' , enter your MyKad number. Even if you are not registered, it is good to check whether 'someone' has registered for you.

Mat Salleh: No wonder, the BN goons are going to town with the ‘Indians will vote BN' song and dance.

Hang Tuah PJ: Mat Salleh, I am an Indian and I can safely tell you that all my relatives who live in Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Kedah and Selangor are all voting opposition.

All my children are voting opposition. All my Indian friends in the GLC (government-linked company) I work for - as well as most of my Malay and Chinese colleagues - are also for the opposition.

Most of my Indian neighbours in Pandan are going to vote opposition just like they did at GE12. So, I just don't know which stupid Indian is going to vote for BN. All around me, the Indians are going to vote opposition.

Heavywater: Fraudulent voters should be punished by the court if Najib is serious and not afraid of losing. No action by Najib translates to fear of losing.

Taikohtai: The EC has been carrying on with its ‘jihad' for many years to ensure their masters stay in power. Thank goodness for Bersih which has waged war against these ‘homegrown terrorists'.

Sungai Buloh prison shall soon become the Guantanamo of Malaysia after Pakatan Rakyat has taken Putrajaya. The VVIP treatment is awaiting the first Tun resident there.

Harian Metro rejects Penang gov't adverts

LittleGiant: Major newspapers and electronic media in the country's mainstream media (MSM), owned or favoured by the ruling BN coalition, have already lost their middle ground and their ability to provide fair and balanced reporting.

Why don't the MSM newspapers ask their advertisers to declare if they are supporters of BN or the opposition and stop selling advertisement space to opposition supporters?

Why don't the MSM newspapers survive on advertising products and services favoured only by BN and its allies?

Fair&Just: This is very symptomatic of a tyrannical regime where the newspapers are so intimidated, oppressed and suppressed that they dare not even accept advertisements from opposition state governments.

Is this the type of government the rakyat want?

Anonymous 007: It is quite obvious that Harian Metro is run by the BN. Otherwise, which newspaper in would refuse to take advertisements?
