Isa to face singer Aishah in Jempol, Rais dropped
Former Negri Sembilan menteri besar Mohd Isa Abdul Samad will face 1990s singer Wan Aishah Wan Ariffin of PAS in the Jempol parliamentary seat.
Caretaker Information, Communications and Culture Minister Rais Yatim has been dropped from his Jelebu seat.
Isa, who is currently Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) chairperson, had contested the Bagan Pinang state seat in the Port Dickson area in the 2009 by-election.
Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar will defend the Rembau parliamentary seat.
This is despite the Umno Youth leader having been quoted as saying he is willing to relinquish his parliamentary seat but would defend his party post.
“ Alhamdulillah , I just received the appointment to be BN candidate to defend the Rembau parliamentary seat,” Khairy said.
Caretaker Works Minister Shaziman Abu Mansor will defend the Tampin parliamentary seat.
Mohamad to stay as Negri Sembilan MB?
Mohamad Hassan who is Negri Sembilan caretaker menteri besar, will defend the Rantau state seat, stemming speculation that he will be retained as the state's chief executive.
Incumbent Jempol MP Lilah Yassin moves to the Palong state seat.
