YOURSAY ‘The ROS action can only make the bonds within Pakatan stronger. The fence-sitters will now realise how dirty Umno-BN can be.’

ROS letter brings Kit Siang to tears

your say Headhunter: Actually it might not be a bad thing altogether if DAP to come under PAS’ umbrella. It could be a win-win situation for both DAP and PAS and lose-lose for the Registrar of Societies (ROS) and the BN.

It could stir up people's emotion against the high-handedness of the BN using dirty tactics against the opposition. And it will make PAS more palatable to the non-Muslims, too.

As it is, people are already fed up with the Election Commission (EC) being so partisan so this latest ROS unfairly putting its foot in the door will not go well with the rakyat.

Ferdtan: Whether DAP will win more or not, at least, this will warm the hearts of many hardcore DAP Chinese who may not have voted for PAS previously, will this time. The stigma attaching the fear of PAS will be gone completely.

If this time Pakatan cannot form the government then PAS may do so in the next as the Chinese are quite accustomed with the PAS symbol. Can BN take such a risk?

Likewise the conservative PAS Malays, who out of fear of the Chinese DAP in the past, may not have voted for the non-Malay candidates will do so this time.

So again the fear of the DAP vanishes. This is what BN have to think of. Beware of the peril of your doings, ROS aka BN.

The Patriot: In the face of a crisis, DAP knows how to maximise it to their advantage. In peninsula Malaysia, PAS is seen to well accepted by both the non-Muslim and Muslims.

By using PAS’ symbol the Malays will be drawn to it. whereas in Christian-majority Sarawak and Sabah, PAS is seen as an Islamic party and is yet to be accepted, so to use the PKR symbol will allay the fear that DAP is a Chinese party.

Whatsup: With the EC-sanctioned fraud already bad enough, now we have ROS persecuting DAP.

They have delayed accepting Pakatan Rakyat’s registration and now this. Every opportunity they can find - no matter how flimsy - they persecute.

Yet treasonous frauds by EC, Umnoputras and others were allowed to continue with impunity and even with protection.

SamYap: It’s good that DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang is humble. I have been a keen supporter of DAP since my college days and it’s been 30 years.

But of late I am feeling uncomfortable about the way Lim Guan Eng (LGE), Tony Pua, Yeo Bee Yin, Lau Weng San, and Teresa Kok have been behaving - quite cocky actually.

I hope that this latest dirty trick by BN, will bring them down to earth. DAP leaders must learn that whatever power they hope to wield comes from the people.

And now they have to work harder to convince the people, now that they have to "tumpang" under PAS and PKR symbols to contest.

I believe however, in all sincerity that if LGE, and especially Tony Pua and his gang of three work the ground humbly, they will win with a huge landslide.

I wish them all the best and do not forget, we put you there, we can bring you down, too.

Bender: Chinese people are known for being pragmatic and not emotional. I'm sure DAP supporters fully realise what is going on.

If ROS (read: BN) wants to play dirty, then the Chinese know better than to cling to sentiments and resort to emotions in order to win.

Sure, some are phobic when it comes to PAS being so close to them but if a DAP hardcore like Uncle Lim can weather it, why not others?

Those who oppose might have other agenda or perhaps a genuine phobia for not being able to accept PAS logo (considering the circumstances).

But after seeing such harmony shown by people of all races under PR's leadership, I think this is one obstacle that DAP can triumph over, no worries there.

Just remember to be cautious, there are really bad people (read: BN) out there who will do anything to win.

Mahashitla: The ROS action can only make the bonds within Pakatan stronger. The fence-sitters will now realise how dirty Umno-BN can be.

A heavily tainted electoral roll, gerrymandering and a clear 'buy' general election still cannot give them the confidence to win that they have to resort to such unethical and undemocratic tactics. Umno-BN's fear knows no shame.

Appum: This brought me to tears, too. Not because the Rocket cannot be used but the fact that our government has hit rock-bottom in terms of fairness and justice. The Dacing is no longer balanced but tilted heavily to one side.

If more underhand tactics are used against their opponents, the Dacing will topple over for good. And this will be bad for Malaysia because when Pakatan comes to power, we rakyat would still want a strong opposition.

OMG!!: How could the people be calm any longer? This corrupted regime is still looting the taxpayers' money. This irresponsible regime is still irresponsible, authoritative and suppressive.

This treacherous regime, after giving out citizenship-for-votes is now resorting, to declare its opponent illegal. How could the people be calm when this regime is getting dirtier and dirtier and so is GE13?

Negaraku: Actually I am a fence-sitter - maybe vote for BN. But now, looking at the dirty game played, I have decided. I will know who to vote this time round. Do not worry, DAP - we are all behind you, whether the moon or eye!

Sali Tambap: The reason BN is fighting tooth and nail including employing dirty tactics to hold on to power is because of the deep-seated personal interests that their leaders have.

There has been so much corruption going on and dishonest accumulation of wealth that they practically became very wealthy not through anything else but through corrupt use of power.

How can they explain their riches if not for their involvement in politic and by being in power? So they want to stay in power at all costs.

They are afraid to be voted out because they know the consequence they are going to face when a new government would bring them to justice.

In a democratic country, election is merely an exercise of people’s preference for a government and political parties can always look to the next election for their chances should they lose the present election.

Not for BN - they want to be in power forever. It is not a democracy. Where in the world in democratic countries is there one party which stays in power for 50 years continuously? Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Human Being: I am flying back to Malaysia in a couple of days time. Once I reached home, I am going to go straight to the nearest DAP office, and offer to assist in whatever campaigning. Jet-lagged also never mind.
