EC, use magnifying glass to examine voters' roll

YOURSAY 'Is the EC implying that come May 5, every voter will be examined with a magnifying glass before a voting slip is issued?'

'Traces of indelible ink visible under magnifying glass'

your say Penyokong PR: The Election Commission (EC) has defended its use of indelible ink saying the traces of the mark would remain and could be seen under a magnifying glass. So every polling will now be provided with magnifying glasses for such purposes.

Anonymous #78379017: Are you implying that come May 5, every voter will be examined with a magnifying glass before a voting slip is issued?

Anonymous #85701391: Jolly good idea to supply magnifying glasses, EC secretary. This may be the last time to get a crony supplier to provide the glasses at off-market price.

Get this supplier to state in the invoice that all these glasses had to be flown in by air within 24 hours as the reason for the unusual price.

And by the way, EC secretary, better make sure only staff with 20/20 vision are deployed to check the fingers under a magnifying glass otherwise they may not be able to differentiate the ink from the dirt.

Oldtimer: Is this guy for real or what? Traces of many, many things are visible under the microscope. That's one way how they catch murderers. But what has that got to do with indelible ink that is supposed to be indelible?

Caripasal: EC should first examine the electoral roll under the magnifying glass and not the voter's finger.

Quigonbond: My take is that EC will say sorry that the indelible ink cannot be successfully implemented because of so many naysayers, and will be withdrawn from the electoral process altogether.

We're back to status quo, and it's a bit too late to hold a massive one million people rally at Dataran Merdeka. Well done, EC. You can put up the signboards at polling stations that says: "Repeat voters are now welcomed".

CAT Lover: Parliament can demand from EC to supply the purchase receipt of the foreign ink supplier, all details included, and a sworn declaration that its ink is indelible.

Failing that, Bersih should be able to sue the company, which would trigger court proceedings on corporate credibility that would absolutely run the company to the ground if it did not expose all the facts about its supplies to Malaysia.

In the final stage, the EC's corruption would be exposed, and thereby BN's election results would have to be declared null and void, if not by Malaysian law then by the international political and economic community. In this likely fraud, BN may win a battle, but it will lose the war for sure.

Indian Prophet: Indeed, all the magnifying glasses in the world cannot hide a blatant lie.

Najib's 'transformation' magic found wanting

Heavywater : No way can BN chief Najib Razak effect any transformation. He should have started to carry out some of these promises when he was in power. Now it's too late.

Najib doesn't care, for if he did, he would have listened to the people and do what is right then and not now - making promises knowing he wouldn't be around to keep them.

If BN loses, Najib is out. If BN wins, Najib may also be out as the next PM, so how is he to keep his promises? Only fools believe him.

Swipenter: Najib, you are a man without the necessary gumption to confront issues that are dogging you and the nation. You are just like a lallang blowing in the wind. You have been like that the day you become a politician; a man without principles and without unshakeable conviction.

The Chinese and others don't want your handouts and BR1M, only your cronies do. What we want is a fair, transparent, accountable and responsible government based on social justice, equality and rule of law for all Malaysians.

We are fed up with corruption, social injustice/inequality, racial and religious discrimination and rule by law promoted by Umno-BN for more than four decades.

Louis: Najib has not cleared himself of all the allegations against him and wife Rosmah Mansor. Instead he seems to be running away whenever topics like the Scorpene submarines, Altantuya Shaariibuu or Port Dickson pop up.

How can he be a good PM if he is consistently dodging questions on his alleged scandals?

Jiminy Qrikert: Najib keeps mum on virtually everything that is disadvantageous to him or puts him in bad light. He is like an ostrich burying his head in the sand hoping all the negative incidents involving him will disappear miraculously.

But Najib must come clean. First he must apologise for his 1987 statement "...bathe this keris in Chinese blood..." Otherwise he is just a fake through and through. Najib himself has yet to transform.

Anonymous_3e86: The Chinese have deserted MCA for good. No amount of enticement will bring them back. Perkasa and the keris-wielding incidents have been the key elements in the Chinese desertion from BN and MCA.

But Najib refuses to reign in Perkasa and the racist Ibrahim Ali. Why? It's because Najib has too much baggage himself, which others within Umno are holding against him.

A tainted leader will not be able to exert his authority on his men as they have incriminating evidence of his wrongdoings.

Anonymous #40538199: Yes, Najib has transformed Umno. Now Umno openly embraces Perkasa.
