Selangor exco line-up still being discussed
Selangor DAP said that the composition of the state cabinet is still under discussion and will be finalised over the next two days.
Selangor DAP said that the composition of the state cabinet is still under discussion and will be finalised over the next two days.
This follows an "emergency meeting" between between Selangor DAP leadership and Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim this afternoon.
"We understand that there are no major issues in the matter and it has been agreed that the matter will be resolved within the next two days via consensus of all parties in Pakatan Rakyat.
"There will be no further comments until the state exco allocation has been finalised," said Selangor DAP deputy chief Tony Pua in a press release today.
Apart from Pua, the meeting was attended by Selangor DAP chairperson Teresa Kok and state DAP exco member Teng Khang Khim.
Meeting on Thursday
Earlier this morning, Pua had held a press conference to state Selangor DAP's disapproval that Abdul Khalid had allocated three state cabinet positions for the party.
During an interview with Malaysiakini this morning, Abdul Khalid said that DAP will also be allocated the state legislative assembly speaker's position and one senator's position.
However, Pua told the press today that Selangor DAP was initially promised four state cabinet positions, while PAS and PKR would hold three each. However, PAS would hold the speaker's position.
He said that this was arrived at during a short 30-minute meeting on Thursday between state DAP, PAS and PKR leaders.
Pua said that Selangor DAP only found out about the new arrangement last night through Abdul Khalid's tweet.
