VOXPOP "With crooks running around shooting people and PDRM claiming they need the Emergency Ordinance, they can still spend so much of their resources harassing those who oppose Umno."

Suaram faces 'Round 2' harassment over Scorpene

vox populi small thumbnail Spikerini: Hi Suaram, by now, the rakyat and you are used to intimidation by Umno and its cronies. Don't give up in your fight for the truth on the Scorpene submarine scandal. As long as you are truthful, you will win over lies.

Prime Minister Najib Razak's main objective is to disconnect himself from murdered Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu because of the coming Umno general assembly. Perhaps some forces are coming out to challenge Najib for the top post. It will be interesting to see Umno disintegrating.

KJ John: (Suaram secretariat member) Cynthia Gabriel, do not be bullied by the incompetent police. Ask them to name the charge; apart from their right to investigate.

What is the crime you all have done, and is it not the Registrar of Companies who should make the charge? Why are the police getting involved in a company's business, unless the activity is illegal to start with?

Anonymous #74021261 : Things are certainly getting hot. The PM's counterpart from France has just visited Kuala Lumpur. Ever wondered what they talked about?

Now the ex-‘inspector general of police has just been appointed to be Malaysia's ambassador to France. Anyway, Cynthia, don't give up. The rakyat is with you all the way.

Prushothman: Cynthia, before the Umno election this harassment will continue to divert the attention of rakyat. We intelligent Malaysians have seen such drama again and again, and we will not buy these stories. The truth will prevail. These politics are only short term.

Hang Babeuf: Somebody suggested they should send someone over to UK to get the truth out of Najib's confidante Abdul Razak Baginda, but it is not necessary to go so far. The man can be seen from time to time cavorting around KL.

He even gives ‘prestige' talks to the UK university graduate clubs and the like. He clearly has nothing to fear here. After all, he has been acquitted, and cannot ordinarily be retried. And, of course, has friends in high places.

Justice Pao: With crooks and hired killers running around shooting people and PDRM claiming they need the Emergency Ordinance (EO), the PDRM can still spend so much of their resources harassing those who oppose Umno.

Geronimo: While contract killers are having a field day, we have our ever so diligent PDRM (police force) going around protecting the nation's wrong doers.

Where is their sense of priority? Why do I always feel I am made to pay my taxes to feed these people when they should be safeguarding our interests and not their political masters?

They can do their best to scuttle the efforts of Suaram, but they forget, the investigations and court case will be heard in Paris. It will not be long now before the guilty party and his henchmen become international fugitives. You can run, but you cannot hide from justice.

Ian2003: When it comes to PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim's case there is no evidence, and it has been proven that Anwar is innocent and cleared of the allegations by the court and thus it is persecution of Anwar, but on the Scorpene case the evidence is there but no further action is being taken.

On Gabriel's part your situation is now akin to the mother who had posted the photo of the shower room canteen, where the messenger is being persecuted.

Fair&Just: Suaram members and those assisting Suaram are heroes fighting for justice and fairness, while those opposing Suaram have packs of skeletons in each and every one of their closets. Good shall triumph over evil.

'Anwar has millions of ringgit' letters flood Permatang Pauh

AnSoN: Who cares what Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim or DAP chairperson Karpal Singh have or own? It is their business and none of ours, more so those failed politicians who bark.

If there is a slightest ounce of proof of corruption, by all means go after them in the proper manner, but make sure this is similarly applicable to the BN politicians.

SenyumUnta: Even if it is true, what is wrong with Anwar Ibrahim having money in offshore accounts? If there are elements of crime, then just charge him.

Now, maybe some BN leaders are shivering in fear of being exposed as well; are you sure non of them have offshore accounts as well?

SS Dhaliwal : Karpal and Anwar need not explain themselves based on a poison pen letter. If the writer has any temerity and righteousness, he should offer proof of their guilt instead.

The duo should sue Umno-owned daily Utusan Malaysia once again for reporting unsubstantiated contents that, with utmost certainty coming from this toilet newspaper is nothing more than malicious lies.

Go and write on Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud's illicit millions stashed in his Swiss bank accounts first, a matter which Switzerland has confirmed.

Samurai66: So what if they have millions in offshore accounts? Don't BN leaders have billions and even own prime buildings in US, Canada and UK and even rent them out to the CIA?

I remember a report that some chief minister's son has a whole bunch of accounts with millions in each. Let's have their account details as well please while you are at it, or is it only a problem when it involves BN opponents?

Homesick: Former BN Permatang Pauh candidate Mazlan Ismail is stupid. Why oh why do we have such idiots as BN MPs/ex-MPs? Anwar and Karpal do not have to explain themselves to you or anyone, based on some printed material and hearsay.

Any fool can print a few letters or spread rumours. Any fool can criticise, complain and condemn ‑ and most fools (meaning you, Mazlan) do.

Freethinker: Isn't it that a person who leaks the account details can be charged under the Banking and Financial Institution Act 1989 (Bafia)?

Lie2me: Umno is famous for making ‘surat layang'. They do this all the time to stay relevant. This time when Najib is under attack, in order to deflect attention they create this.

Such a stupid move will not help Najib and Umno. Not when the people have already wised up now unlike 20 years or so ago.

Jacob George: Yes, as commentators rightly say, "So what?" Certain politicians and other preying for a post in coming party elections ‑ go get yourself a life! Stop boring us to death.

It seems these individuals and others financing them are suffering from a serious pandemic of ‘idiotitis' post GE13.

And the problem is we still have no international pharmaceutical company or local generic dispatching predators doing drug tests and reviews to find an antidote for this outrageous spreading disease, which seems to only affect politicians, mercenary bloggers, masquerading ‘NGOs', politician wannabe, of various shades.
