MCA - two bald men fighting over a comb

YOURSAY 'I am not siding with Liow here, but since when was the party president not responsible for the party's performance?'

Liow: Why blame me? What about the sex scandal?

your say Fairnsquare: Definitely MCA chief Chua Soi Lek's (CSL) ‘blue film' has resulted in the dismal support for MCA.

The party delegates supported CSL for their personal reasons and MCA is no longer representative of the Chinese community in our outdated communal political system.

A better option would be for MCA to be a multiracial component in BN rather than a race-based party. A new Multi Communities Association (MCA) would be the best option. Something for MCA leaders to think about.

Odysseus: MCA deputy chief Liow Tiong Lai, why did you choose to team up with a ‘porn star' to oust a clean and straight leader like Ong Tee Keat?

Basically, you are greedy for power. You are simply a politician who is now fighting for own interest.

It's either CSL kicks you out or you bundle him out. The prize is obvious. You win, you get the presidency which comes with ministership. Isn't that obvious?

Armchair Newspaper: The MCA leadership charades continue. MCA vice-president Wee Ka Siong is a cry baby. Ong shamelessly compares himself with Australia's Kevin Rudd. Liow is an unprincipled back stabber. Chua is so soiled that even Umno is embarrassed.

The party was rejected by the Chinese and one wonder if the so-called party members who make their appearance are just paid ghosts (remember that MCA was once famous for its phantom membership).

Now they're all fighting for control of MCA money ... so typical of MCA and utterly shameless and contemptuous.

Titleist: As MCA's party election drums beat louder and louder, the mud-slinging is in full swing. With a tarnished image after GE13 - when expectations had sunk so low - MCA is now beleaguered with more and more scandals.

The president cannot hide behind his spokesman. Eventually the video scandal, The Star sale, the MPH building purchase, the aborted Matang deal, can't be swept under the carpet.

Anonymous_4031: The blame game has started in MCA. Why should only the president be blamed for the GE13 results? What about the other top leaders? After all, it is a collective responsibility.

When the party fails to win more seats than the whole leadership has to take the brunt of responsibility. Similarly, Umno has to share the blame.

Why wasn't the Umno president, who vowed to take Selangor, be blamed for his dismal failure when BN lost more seats than when ex-PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi lost Selangor in 2008?

Didn't BN pour in money but failed to deliver the goods? Wasn't DPM Muhyiddin Yassin, who was the main player for the BN operation, to be blamed as well?

Note that Abdullah was solely blamed for the 2008 debacle. Why not all the other BN leaders?

Gen Half Track: This is a case of two bald persons fighting over a comb, that best describes Chua and Liow.

Imai2tangtu: With Umno punishing the Chinese voters for supporting Pakatan Rakyat, MCA, Gerakan and SUPP will die a natural death come the next general election. All the infighting will further drive the Chinese away from the ruling party.

Lim Chong Leong: So it is confirmed - MCA only wants government positions and the decision to reject government posts was only to threaten and scare the Chinese into voting for them.

And when that didn't work, it was all about scrambling back to Umno for the posts, and they couldn't do it fast enough to wait for the next general assembly but have to call for an EGM to get those juicy positions.

Onyourtoes: I am not siding with Liow here, but since when was the party president not responsible for the party's performance? It is really a joke to try to blame the whole fiasco on his deputy.

By the way, I have always maintained that the demise of MCA was not due to its leaders alone. It is the party - the party is made up of members whose DNA was never right. MCA is a depraved party, devoid of moral principles and dignity.

Think about it; how could a depraved person like CSL be elected to the presidency? As a Chinese Malaysian, I am insulted by the choice of MCA delegates.

I am not being holier than thou here. If person wants to be a leader, he must carry with him a higher standard of morality, integrity and dignity. No two ways about it.

Old Timer: Stop your internal fighting, the real "enemies" are outside the party, treating you so badly and giving you leftover crumbs.

You can't even look after the interests of the Chinese community, and now you spend your energy fighting one another.

Gordon Gecko: "Love is in the air, wherever I look around," sing some MCA leaders. Now it sounds more like "Hate is in the air."
