Ali Rustam shows Umno how it should be done

VOXPOP 'What a shocking waste of taxpayers' money. No wonder Mohd Ali has the financial firepower to allegedly bribe his way to a VPship.'

RM73mil CIQ complex illegally built on private land

vox populi small thumbnail Visu: This is a great credential to become an Umno VP (vice-president). To be a president, you have to commit a real heinous crime. You have to come up with something even more innovative and be the Glocal of the Year.

So former Malacca MB Mohd Ali Rustam, have a go at it man, you have the credentials. But beware, the rest of your challengers would have even better plans.

Toonarmy: What an absolute and shocking waste of taxpayers' money. No wonder Mohd Ali has the financial firepower to allegedly bribe his way to a VPship, so there is no need to wonder whose pockets that money will go to.

Old Timer: What's new? This is not the first time nor the last time. The idea is that ultimately the money goes to some Umnoputras. And that's the crux of the whole matter.

James Dean: RM10.8 million for 2.2 acres of land. Who is the crony?

Ex-Wfw: I am just wondering if the compensation reflects the real value of the land at that locality? Or is it an agreed understanding?

Onyourtoes: Each year when I read the Auditor-General's Report, I could only conclude that the whole civil service, from the head to the toe is rotting to the core.

I think the whole political establishment is corrupted to the core. There is no hope left. All members of the administration should just shut up. They have no moral authority and decency to speak on anything anymore, least of all at international forums.

The whole civil service should be revamped, its salary cut by half for those in the top echelon. They deserve nothing; their opportunity cost is RM900, the minimum wage. They are incompetent, corrupt, stupid and apathetic.

Slumdog: Plunder, plunder and more plunder of state coffers. This is yet another Umno project. How many times have projects stalled because costs have increased, building collapses because of shoddy work and another crony contractor has to be called in to complete the project at substantial costs to the taxpayers.

Well done Umno, you have now refined plundering down to a fine art.

Lim Chong Leong: So the crony contractor got money to build the RM73 million Malacca Customs and Immigration Quarantine Complex (CIQ) and the crony landowner got money for compensation. Taxpayer rugi lah .

The auditor-general must answer why the federal government did not heed legal warnings. And the Malacca CM must answer why state land was not sufficient for project?

OMG!!: All these wastage and looting added up would be more than enough to pay for the subsidies.

Why the ruling elite is not accountable for it and has not taken any action to recover any damage from the first contractor who had failed to deliver?

Bung reveals his bang in Parliament

Simon: Kinabatangan MP Bung Mokhtar Radin has not the capacity to understand the implications of the Prevention of Crime Act (PCA) in the first place. I will challenge him to explain clearly why there is a need for preventive detention.

It is clear that we have a very incompetent police force and they will use the PCA to detain folks at their whims and fancies. It will also be used as a political tool as it was done with ISA (Internal Security Act).

Malaysian have learned and will never be fooled again by fools. The right thing to do, is to arrange for proper training for the police force to excel in their investigations and also to hire and promote competent folk in the police force.

The other action is redeploy the police staff to criminal investigation rather then Special Branch (for political espionage) and administrative jobs. We have enough of this rubbish that is being dished out to us.

Guyintheglass: This is so wrong - an MP can get a licence for a gun because he does not trust the security of the nation. The rakyat does not have such an option. No wonder our situation is not improving.

Ipohcrite: Carrying a gun is a sign of insecurity concerning his manhood. How then can you explain the need for Bung to carry firearms and make a public announcement about it?

Telling the world you carry a gun just raised the risk stakes that much higher. Nevertheless, the rakyat still thinks he's a spineless coward that mouths off verbal diarrhoea whenever he speaks.

Adsertor: Here is one guy who has no faith in the government run by his own party. This tells volumes.

Fernz: The biggest criminals in the country are the white collar criminals and those who run up the national debt burden by plundering the Treasury to feather their own nests under the guise of bumiputeraism and bringing so-called development to the people.

Geronimo: Indirectly, Bung has now told the whole world that Malaysia is no longer a safe country.

Why don't the IGP join him in the 'Gunfight at OK Corral' or is he planning to do a ‘High Noon' with somebody. He must have got bitten by the Gary Cooper bug. Ada licence ke?

CiViC: Bung needs a brain more than a gun.
