Gov't must explain why tax money goes to Perkasa

YOURSAY 'Needless to say when elected governments chose to align their power and institutions with such groups, the nation is at peril.’

Kingfisher: History is replete with examples of individuals, groups of like minded men and women, institutions and organisations which seek a life of leisure by exploiting religious/racial issues and getting hardworking followers/adherents to pay/support their seemingly development work.

Such mechanisation/diversion of resources often, if not always, occurs when the social psychology of a community or a particular tribal group becomes fragile due to fear, often unrealistic, of domination by others.

And such fear/negative sentiments are often nurtured by the very organisations that seek a life of leisure which continue to engineer the continuing prevalence of such sentiments.

Needless to say when elected governments chose to align their power and institutions with such groups, the nation is at peril.

Headhunter: How can a government use taxpayers money to finance a racist organisation to shore up its own support?

BN is devoid of all moral fiber and it's turning out to be like Hitler's Nazism. The road to all things bad and rotten in the country leads back to its doorstep.

PM Najib Razak has lost the chance to be a great statesman and history will judge him as a weak leader pandering to racist and fanatical religious groups. Compared with him, Pak Lah comes out smelling like a rose.

Voice: After this admission from Perkasa (that it is supported by funds from the government), the ruling government must come clean and clarify why they use public funds to support Perkasa.

Anonymous #40538199: Perkasa secretary-general Syed Hassan Syed Ali should provide a list of other NGOs, including Chinese and Indian NGOs, which received help from the National Security Council (NSC), National Civics Bureau (BTN) and Special Affairs Department (Jasa).

Otherwise, don't talk sh*t, I repeat, don't talk sh*t. He must also explain why all Perkasa office bearers lost in key Malay constituencies during GE13.

Bamboo: The function of NSCs in other countries is to ensure security within their borders. But our NSC gave funds to Perkasa to create havoc with sabre-rattling acts which thankfully didn't succeed.

Government machineries and public money are abused to maintain power. They have to, otherwise many of them would be behind bars for plundering public money and stealing public lands.

Haveagreatday: Not an earth-shaking revelation, isn't it? Even if not admitted, the thinking rakyat know Perkasa has been doing  the hatchet jobs for Umno.

But these monsters do not know their rightful place, they now want to replace their masters!

Wg321: One bitter cold night in the desert, an Arab lay asleep inside his tent while his camel was outside shivering in the cold. At midnight, the camel woke up his master and requested him to allow him to put his head inside the tent.

The Arab said “okay, you are most welcome". After a while, the camel asked the Arab if he might put his neck inside the tent. The Arab did not object. Later, the camel requested him again to allow him to bring his legs inside. The Arab agreed.

By then, the camel was completely inside the tent. But as there was not enough space for both of them, he pushed the Arab out. The moral of the story: Don’t be too kind hearted.

Perkasa has already taken over the role played by Umno Youth. Now it intends to take over the whole of Umno.

Siang Malam: It is morally wrong for taxpayers' money to be given to Perkasa to spread hatred and create disunity and disharmony among the races. Such use of public funds must stop.

Odysseus: Finally, Perkasa has admitted it is a wing of government where racism related activities are carried out.

On one hand, we have a PM who talks about unity, etc. On the other hand, he provides funding to organisations like Perkasa which fan racism and create disunity among the people.

So, do we have a government which cares for the people and stability in this country?

Karma: First, they said they are not racist. Now they admit receiving money from government as they “helped” BN shore up Malay support.

Then they said they support just causes but were quiet on many issues, including toll and petrol prices hikes. They forgot that their cause actually drained Malay support as can be seen in their losses in vying for Pasir Mas and Shah Alam parliamentary seats.

Further, the money they got was from taxpayers and not the BN. So, they are indeed really confused about themselves.

Oh Ya?: This must be the most startling revelation and confirms pre-GE13 speculations that Perkasa is an Umno outsourced arm to blast the minority groups.

It goes to show that the 1Malaysia is a bankrupt slogan and that Umno and its elites - from Najib all the way down - are racists to the core. Moreover, they have no shame abusing the taxpayers' money.

Multi Racial: If Umno wants to use its money to finance Perkasa, that is their business. But it cannot use taxpayers’ money to finance Perkasa. This is wrong. When are they going to learn?

Meh: As far as I am concerned, Perkasa is a truly racist organisation and I object to my tax money going to them. I demand the government refund my income tax.

2LAN: I hope voters remember this when GE14 comes around - that public funds are being used to support a racist organisation.
