YOURSAY ‘The former MCA president has forgotten his own sex video scandal...’

Sodomy twist thrown into the Kajang mix

Negarawan: Dr Chua Soi Lek, it is Chinese New Year Eve and you choose to spew your poison on this day. For a person who has been caught in a sexual tryst with a prostitute, your statement is purely hypocritical.

The fair-minded rakyat of Malaysia know that these are politically-motivated and trumped up charges against Anwar Ibrahim by Umno/BN. In your case, your "performance" was a conscious act on your part. It is best that you enjoy your retirement days peacefully, with whatever wealth you have got through MCA.

Shah54: The former MCA president has forgotten his own sex video scandal and is talking about the alleged sodomy trial of Anwar Ibrahim.

Onyourtoes: Former MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek, yes I agree with you that it is all about this one man. The whole BN-Umno, past and present, is fighting against this one man. I am proud this one man that has caused sleepless nights and trouble for Umno and BN leaders for as long as I can remember.

It is all about this one man that is going to cause Malaysia to go upside down for the good of all, except Umno-BN leaders, some of whom may have to spend the rest of their lives in Kajang.

Don’t you think this one man is special? It is just this one man who has caused shivers down the spine of the former IGP, the police, the Attorney-General’s Chambers, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the cabinet, the old and the new prime ministers. Yes, it is just this one man!

Chua, please tell your replacement, Liow Tiong Lai, not to worry too much. Soon Umno will turn moderate and they will praise the Chinese for their contributions to the economy and national coffer.

They will also praise the Chinese schools for their roles in providing competitive education and some schools in Kajang may even be given special allocations. Soon, all the Malay NGOs will be asked to shut up, at least till the by-election is over. Can you see now the role of MCA? You are meant to be used and re-used over and over again.

Ketuanan Rakyat: This by-election should be taken as an opportunity for Kajang voters to represent all Malaysians to make a stand on the current situation in Malaysia, which is the result of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's failure. This by-election should be turned into a referendum on Najib's performance since the last GE in May 2013.

Najib has failed in many ways and has not been keeping his promises to the voters made in the last GE. The ‘Allah’ issue is very important since it was allowed to become a major issue, splitting the harmonious relationship among Malaysians. Najib’s ‘ kangkung ’ logic has been turned into a racial issue by the Umnoputras, with their threat of another May 13.

The list of Umnoputras rotten doings is endless to divert the attention of Malaysians from the unnecessary increase in costs of living. Let Kajang voters decide whether they agree with Bankrupt Nation (BN) or want to lay the groundwork for Pakatan to take over the federal government in the next GE. Abdul Khalid Ibrahim should continue to be Selangor MB.

SekaliLagiLah: "Meanwhile, Chua also said that the by-election would give Anwar and the opposition a platform to run down the government" - precisely what the rakyat needs in order for us to progress to a competitive two-party system.

Fernz: Pakatan is re-contesting Kajang to move the focus of Najib and Umno away from racial and religious politicking in the opposition-ruled states. What are Najib and Umno going to raise in Kajang? Chinese tsunami? Chinese racism? Chinese should only be shopkeepers? Allah exclusive to Muslims?

The 10-point solution not being valid? Burning the Bible is now official government policy? Seizing copies of The Herald is official government policy? Churches hung " Jesus son of Allah " banners in Penang to provoke Muslims? Christians are trying to turn the federation into a Christian state?

If Najib and Umno don’t stop racial and religious politicking in the opposition-ruled states, more by-elections can be expected to determine and dictate the political agenda of the country.

Retnam: I thought all of this has been resolved? Dr Mahathir Mohamad is going to kick out Najib, and then BN is going to sabotage Selangor full swing. This Kajang move is to counter these events. Chua doesn't read the news, meh?

Hermit: Folks in Kajang will surely be happy with the coming by-election. It is super bonus for the rakyat living in Kajang. BR1M cash aid worth RM650 is around the corner.

When Umno sends their papa klaus to Kajang, surely they will be bringing gunnysacks of money: one packet for daddy, another for mummy, another for granddad and another for grandma.

If MCA is honoured to battle with Anwar, more gunnysacks of money will be distributed, for this is the time the big MCA tauke will be showing Najib: I scratch yours and so you scratch mine. Bravo, this is the Year of the Horse. Get the money and gallop.

Who says that staging a by-election in Kajang is wasting public money? I say it's better to get the Election Commission (EC) to spend the money for the by-election. With a by-election, there is no way the EC chief can get his friend to supply inferior ink, like what was done for GE13. On the same note, diverting some money from the Prime Minister’s Office for the by-election is better, for there will less left for Najib and his wife to jet around the world.

Tholu: Chua, who says Anwar's decision to contest the Kajang by-election is fraught with insidious intentions with regard his sodomy appeal hearing? One must undoubtedly possess an evil and conniving mind to concoct such a theory.

Chua, the rakyat don't have to wait for Anwar's appeal result to be aware that it is indeed a government conspiracy to put Anwar behind bars and that the courts are biased and hand judgements favouring the government.

So the by-election is in no way going to change our perception of the government and the judiciary. By the way, Chua, you have lost the high moral ground to talk about Anwar’s sodomy case, ever since you yourself committed adultery in Batu Pahat in 2008.

FellowMalaysian: MCA should use this rare platform as an opportunity to prove to us rakyat that it have balls by pitting its newly-minted but untested leader Liow against Anwar. Otherwise, no one else in MCA stands any chance of giving Anwar a credible fight.

If Liow has any guts in him at all, he should avail himself and vie for the seat instead of just barking against Anwar as a sideshow. I ask that Liow grants us a block-buster fight this New Year, for something to cheer.
