Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has said that he is not involved in the actions of his ex-political aide Faekah Hussin who has been criticising other PKR leaders on Twitter.

He said the “cold war” between Faekah and another ex-aide Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad does not reflect his stand on the Kajang by-election and possible change of MB.

“I will make a press statement on what the state and our stand is in these maters... Whatever that is written online is not our official stand

“We cannot use this as an effort to lift or destroy others which can spark off anger and distrust (towards the leaders),” he added.

Yesterday, Faekah made several postings on Twitter, among others criticising those who were after the MB post.

Today, Nik Nazmi responded on his Twitter, saying: “We are no longer setpol (political secretaries) but we still talk a lot about politics.”  

The Twitter war stemmed from the speculation that opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim would replace Khalid as menteri besar.

Prepared for a truce

Meanwhile, Khalid has called on PKR and Pakatan Rakyat leaders in Selangor to unite for the good of the people.

Although he did not mention of a rift between him and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, the menteri besar said he was prepared for a truce for the sake of the state, people and party.

“Politics is open. So it is not a problem. In politics, we need to respect one another,” he added.

Khalid also called on the people not to make conclusions based on what appears in the media since he and the party have not made an official statement.

He was responding to questions on Azmin being picked to head the PKR election machinery for the upcoming Kajang by-election.

“Whatever it is, there must be an official announcement... So I will not make a statement until the official announcement,” he added.            

Anwar, who was also present at the event, rushed off within 15 minutes without speaking to reporters.
