YOURSAY 'It is crystal clear that he wanted to smuggle the firearm into Malaysia.'

RMAF major nabbed in US for gun smuggling

Anonymous$&@?: Every military personnel knows that smuggling a gun into a plane is an offence, other than trying to smuggle it into Malaysia. This crime committed by an air force (RMAF) major speaks volumes of the integrity of the RMAF personnel.

Looks like the rot has already started from the head and is spreading to other parts of the body. Malaise Boleh!

Muhibbah: It is crystal clear that he wanted to smuggle the firearm into Malaysia. Firstly, he committed a grave offence in US. Secondly, he intended to smuggle firearms into Malaysia. Will he be charged in Malaysia?

MinahBulat: Major, a .22 caliber gun is certainly is not for terrorist activities. It is more for shooting rats or birds, rather than to do maximum damage to a person.

Hmmmmmmmm: Opportunity for our great lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah to have a good fight in the US that he so craves.

You should know that in Malaysia, owning a paintball gun is also an offence. Now you are in really big shit over this and I honestly wish you well. Just admit your guilt and plead for a lenient sentence, like a fine.

Toffeesturn: Are we training terrorists? He is an RMAF officer, he was there on a diplomatic visa, which clearly indicates he was there on government business. And yes, I believe him when he says he was trying to conceal it from Malaysian authorities.

Or was he? After all, he was on a diplomatic visa and could have easily dodged the screening in KL. Is this the kind of personnel we send overseas? How good and effective are our screening processes?

If this major Mohd Faiz Abdul Jalil is freed or convicted and jailed in the United States for trying to smuggle a disassembled Taurus PT 22 in several parts of his luggage into the US, as reported, it should be of no consequence to us.

People have been sentenced to die for this in Malaysia, and this officer should be arrested on his return, either after a jail term I the US, or even if not, and face a court martial in Malaysia.

Gen2: If he had got past the US security, he would have used his diplomatic status to bypass our local Customs when he got here. Luckily, the US doesn't give a damn about diplomatic status issued by Third World and third rate mentality countries.

Lawfool: Oh, why so upset? It is just a business, doing like any other businessmen. He is a person with business mind. Great.

Sa tombs: Between senior lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah and the rest of the cabinet, I am not too sure how the country is spending the billions of our ringgit.

In the meantime, would somebody please advise him to tell the US authorities "No speaking the Inggeris" so that the RMAF officer may come out of it?

All this happens because the US does not put up signboards in Bahasa Melayu so that our non English speaking idiots can understand. As Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali would say, it is the fault of the US. Haven’t they heard of ketuanan Melayu?

Abasir: RMAF is getting a lot of publicity these days... And all for the wrong reasons. First, sleeping on the job and letting an unidentified aircraft fly overland, unchallenged. And now, gun smuggling. Incompetence + criminals.

Wong Lu Shin: So, why is this chap buying a gun? Doesn't he trust the police to uphold law and order? :)

Nil: You could have bought the gun in Malaysia, legally, using taxpayers' money...

Anonymous #57883242: Who instructed you, major Mohd Faiz?

Peacemaker: Will Shahidan Kassim, the brainless minister, come to the rescue of this air force minor? Shahidan! Were they bullying this Malaysian air force major when they arrested him?

Onyourtoes: It is his right to assume that the US border control is as stupid as Malaysia's. Now, we must ask, why does he want the gun for? To shoot squirrels?

Real Truth: No big issue here, major. Since as you are an armed forces personnel, our government will get a good lawyer out of the people’s tax money and get you released, soonest possible.

Guns like this can be used to kill people like murdered Mongolian national Altuntanya Shaariibuu, when they become a nuisance to the people in power.

ex PJ: Dumb ass. Unlike Malaysia, the security in US airports is very tight.

Blackberry : He could have got through Malaysian immigration. At least, he did not seem too concerned. New job for Shafee, using taxpayers’ money.

Hplooi: What does this show about our security establishment in Malaysia?

Retnam: Isma and Perkasa will send our great Muslim lawyers to defend him.

Anonymous #59082512: He must have been thinking that it was his Bolehland?!!

Meow: Some key person in Malaysia might say this: "If you release him, we will buy fighter jets worth RM6 billion ringgit (US$1.8 billion) and you don't, we will get it from Russia...

"And please, don't forget the under-the-table money... direct to my Swiss account."

lvbala: What a shame to our country to have such an intelligent major... let him rot in a US jail for 10 years.

Not Smart: No major worries for you Mr Major! Please check it out with our famous and competent solicitor, Shafee Abdullah, as he may be able to fix it for you... It is most important to clear the good name our country, Malaysia.

Mushiro: This guy is lucky he was caught in the US. It is capital punishment if he was caught in Malaysia.

Credit goes to the US TSA agent for his sharp and alert search. Our officers cannot even detect a stolen passport!
