Najib vs Muhyiddin - no smoke without fire

YOURSAY ‘Muhyiddin is just like former DPM Abdul Ghafar Baba.’

I'm not quitting, says 'alive and kicking' DPM

Ferdtan: It’s on. We expected it has to come sooner or later, and we believe it is now. PM Najib Razak had been rather quiet lately, treading carefully in the current political minefields (like the Bible issue).

Many supporters from the opposing camps (ex-PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad/DPM Muhyiddin Yassin) had set the stage by openly attacking Najib’s failures through the alternative media and blogs.

Now the rumour of a rift between the top two leaders stating that DPM is quitting the government post to focus on Umno means that the internal party fight is about to come out in the open.

Who leaked this out to pre-empt the ouster of DPM? Could be Najib’s or 2M faction (Mahathir and Muhyiddin)?

This will be like the famous western ‘Gun Fight at OK Coral’, with Najib in the like of Marshal Virgil Earp, and who will be his friend, Doc Holliday - Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein?

Is this a desperate (or deliberate?) decisive attempt for Najib to finally get tough with his party detractors?

Whatever it is, the country has suffered due to all this Umno’s internal power struggle. We have a long way to go before the next general election, almost four more years, but still dirty politics are being played with such intensity that we would have thought the election is just round the corner.

The constant racial and religious attacks on minorities by right-wing groups like Perkasa, Isma, with the backing of certain powerful quarters in Umno, are to create problems for Najib.

They want to build up a case in Umno to oust its president for being weak and decisive, and for siding with the non-Malays. Does that sound familiar, the same modus operandi in the successful putsch of Tunku Abdul Rahman’s government after the bloody May 13, 1969 riot?

We can have Sodomy I and then almost an identical Sodomy II, so why shouldn’t Umno follow the same script of PM’s ouster as in 1969?

We don’t care who wins in Umno. It makes no difference to Malaysians, but what we are most angry about is that innocent parties become collateral damage.

The sensitive issues of minorities like the Christians, Indians, Chinese and even Pakatan leaders have been played up and they suffered as a consequence.

Go ahead Najib, just finish the game, if you must, and go back to govern the country’s economy. The rakyat are suffering.

Ipohcrite: Sometime ago, Muhyiddin made a passing remar k about ‘The Three Kingdoms’ in an effort to impress his Umno cohorts.

Now, let's see if he actually understands what he professed to have read.

WDA: Muhyiddin is just like former DPM Abdul Ghafar Baba. Nobody could, in their worst nightmare, imagine that he will become PM one day.

So, it is not surprising if Muhyiddin gets the boot. He is surely not PM material. Hishammuddin getting picked over Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi would have raised a few eyebrows if that happened before March 8, 2014.

The former's handling (to some, mishandling) of MH370 disappearance may have earned him new-found respect and admiration, at least in Umno members' eyes. Najib will of course feel more secure to have his cousin by his side.

Najib's self-appointed mouthpiece, Sports and Youth Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, who obviously have been on an apple-polishing spree lately, will most likely be given a more respected portfolio.

Bad Head: Mr DPM, if you wish to go overseas holiday on taxpayers' money, you better do it fast. Your days are numbered.

PM denies deputy leaving, blames 'certain quarters'

Anon1: "As deputy prime minister, Muhyiddin has supported and helped turn all national development agendas and policies, especially those related to the transformation programme of the nation brought forth by me, into a success," said Najib.

I read this about 10 times and I still don't understand what the PM said.

Speaking Sense: In matters of national importance, the PM is silent and he allows samsengs to say and do all sorts of things to destroy the very fabric of our Malaysian multi-racial, multi-religious society.

But when it comes to an insignificant DPM who believes it is proper for a man in his position to be Malay first and Malaysian later, the PM thinks the country needs a statement from him.

But who cares if the DPM resigns? It is no loss to this country and he can then be true to himself and join Perkasa.

Fair Play: The answer is - let's wait and see.
