May 13 threat acceptable but not DCM's rejoinder?

YOURSAY ‘What will be the response if a group wants to burn effigy of DPM?’

Perkasa threatens to torch Ramasamy effigy

Malaccan: Is Perkasa the official spokesman for DPM Muhyiddin Yassin? Is the DPM someone with speech impairment who needs Perkasa’s help?

As former Bersih chief S Ambiga said, ‘we can read, you know’. But truthfully, Perkasa is a toothless tiger, loud in its roaring, but little in substance.

Let them burn whatever effigy they want as long as they pay for it and they don't dirty the environment more than their presence and existence already does.

When a DAP legislator stuffed a PM Najib Razak poster with kangkung, they went ballistic. They want people to think the PM and DPM are akin to Malay caliphs, and therefore no one can question or criticise these leaders.

Aries46: All those out to give a twist to Muhyiddin’s latest bungle are the usual Umno hangers-on like Perkasa, Isma, MCA, Gerakan, etc. This is merely an attempt at damage control.

There couldn't be much ambiguity about Muhyiddin’s barb on the probability of May13 as he did qualify it with allegations that Malay/Muslim rights and the position of Islam was being questioned by certain quarters.

That in itself exemplifies ample motive and intention to his claim. And contrary to the so-called ‘uniting Malaysians’ claims of Perkasa and the others, Muhyiddin is not commonly attributed nor perceived as the epitome of championing causes of national unity since his confession to being a Malay first.

As for Perkasa’s threats against Ramasamy, it is nothing less than pure intimidation and bullying a weaker opponent as views similar to Penang DCM’s was voiced by other leaders much earlier.

And mobs like Perkasa and Isma that champion racial and religious superiority have no credibility to speak of national unity.

Old Timer: Penang Perkasa chairperson Fadzil Shuib speaks like an idiot who does not understand English.

Did Ramasamy actually "challenged the DPM to bring on the May 13 riots"? Did he try “to say that Malays are scared"?

This nincompoop is trying to put words into Ramasamy's mouth, and worse, threaten Ramasamy as well. Fadzil should be charged under sedition.

Cry, My Beloved Country: It is the measure of utter arrogance that this organisation decides to summon another person to a dialogue with itself, failing which it is going to burn his effigy.

Who do they think they are? Not long ago, it issued a call to burn bibles in public, more recently another of its leaders threatened to chop of heads in the name of his religion. And the government did nothing.

Who is stoking racial animosity with impunity is now clear as daylight to all Malaysians. Who is indeed threatening violence at every turn?

GrooTheWanderer: What will be the response of Penang Perkasa if a group wants to burn the effigy of the DPM?

If the DPM remark is not a threat as you say, Penang DCM II Ramasamy's remark can also be taken in a different way. The DPM must explain what he meant and not Perkasa, MCA or Gerakan. The maker of the statement is responsible.

Perkasa, you are always missing the point. No dialogue is needed as your demand is absurd.

Sound Mind: In the first place, why do we have to mention May 13. Peace loving people would not mention the date at all.

I never mention or talk about it to my children. In fact we should not touch on the incidence at all. Many young people today do know what May 13 is all about and we need not have to remind anyone what could happen.

What is our motive? Are we still not learning from history? What does history teaches us? If we wish to say something on unity just say that tension among various races can be unhealthy.

We should solve problems or avoid more problems from cropping up. One thing for sure is that if this continues, we will not progress in any way. Dreams will remain as dreams. We all end up losing in every way.

Anon1: Perkasa, who are you for anyone to engage you in a dialogue in the first place?

Secondly, from the amount of garbage you have spewed in the past and up to now, which sane person would wish to have any form of communication with you?

Thirdly, has your master given you authority to engage in a dialogue with Ramasamy on behalf of the DPM?

Fourthly, where does your mob plan to burn the effigy because that's a given since Ramasamy, an elected assemblyperson unlike jobless mobs, is rightfully going to ignore your childish challenge.

Imanust Nais Yalam: Is the government also paying for the petrol to burn the Ramasamy effigy?
