Rosmah, give your 'keep the peace advice' to PM

YOURSAY ‘ People who throw stones should not be asking others not to do so.’

Keep the peace, Rosmah reminds non-Malays

Not Confused: Prime Minister’s wife Rosmah Mansor, please come out of your luxurious little cocoon and direct your comments at the Malay Muslims, who comprise 65 percent of the population.

Despite being the majority of the population, the Muslims seem to be feel they are in some way disadvantaged. Non-Muslims, on the other hand, are treated like second-class citizens in their own land, and are accused of the most ridiculous things.

It is the Muslims who need to be told to keep the peace as well as other races (no one is totally innocent here). The entire population must be treated with an even hand or we will all suffer in the long run.

Anonymous_1371482984: Rosmah should give her advice to her husband and the Umno politicians. They should respect the non-Malays instead of threatening them.

Anonymous_1INGRATE: Rosmah, don't tell us you are blind and deaf to all the seditious acts that are growing in numbers by the day.

Which parties and NGOs makes the most provocations, accusations and condemning races and religions? Are you not aware or are you pretending? Tell us, can the minorities bully the majority or the other way round?

Which Pakatan Rakyat leaders have continually reminded the rakyat of May 13? Which parties always threaten the minorities with racial riots?

Of course, all of us must play a part to keep peace, however who are the ones always playing up racial and religious issues to shore up its power base? Who are the instigators?

Chris Wong: People who throw stones at others should not be asking others not to throw stones. Enough said.

Aries46: With due respect, Rosmah is barking up the wrong tree. The non-Malays have little say in keeping the peace in this nation as they are not in a position to cause trouble as to do so would make them the bigger losers.

They neither have the numbers nor the avenues to cause instability and chaos as had happened during May 13, 1969. In fact they stomached whatever that was thrown at them and parted with all that they could during 40 years of economic restructuring under the NEP (New Economic Policy).

Nevertheless Rosmah is right that whatever conflict and havoc that is taking place today is caused by those that are never satisfied nor grateful for all that they have benefitted.

They seem to have tasted the easy way of amassing wealth and they want more. They hope to further their evil schemes by suppressing and hoodwinking others through championing race and religion.

And those types that do not respect leaders or say thank you when receiving their scrolls, they are out there seeking martyrdom.

Appum: Leaders of Malaysia, including their wives, girlfriends or mistresses, should address the rakyat as the people of Malaysia, nothing less.

How come wives can advise the rakyat when they can’t very well advise their own partners to be leaders for all Malaysians?

After 56 years, if our leaders can't understand, accept and realise such a concept in our plural society, then they don't deserve to lead this country.

This country belongs to all Malaysians, period. All are responsible to keep peace, and this issue should not be directed to Malays, Chinese or Indians as specific groups.

Paul Warren: I am confused. Maybe our honorary first lady can tell us how exactly and what exactly are the non-Malays doing or saying that is not preserving the peace?

Mosquitobrain: Rosmah, stop the crap.

1) Do not get the Chinese and Indians wrong. We're not against Malays. We're peace loving citizens of this country. We're only against BN-Umno’s one-sided, unfair policies and massive corruption.

2) As the wife of the PM, it is your duty to wake your husband up and tell him to keep in check those Umno NGOs from further spewing sensitive, racist, seditious remarks against the minorities.

Rosmah, do the above, and we will do the rest.

Myrights: I just watched the video posted , and I actually think Malaysiakini is very mischievous here with that headline. When I first read the title, my first impression was that Rosmah had singled out the warning to non-Malays.

But after watching the video, it seemed quite balanced. She first asked the Malays to keep peace with everyone of all races. And, then she followed up with the comment that Chinese and Indians should also keep peace too, not just the Malays.

So, I think it was a balanced speech in this regards and Malaysiakini should not have been so mischievous and the right thing is to correct the title to something like "Rosmah reminds everyone of all races to keep peace" which would be more representative of what she said.

Hplooi: Malaysiakini may have 'disproportionately' reported the bias within the video message, but what rankles is that 'provocation' so far has not been proportionate.

The PM's wife by making statements which ostensibly assign equal responsibility or cause to the issue of 'racial peace' is already concluding that the non-Malays as much as the extreme Malay rightwing are responsible for the situation.

This is a serious miscarriage as the non-Malays were never the ones who started or made any provocation. To date many of the insinuations and provocations of the far-right has been seditious.

My reply to the PM's wife would be, "You should ask your husband to take action against those instigators of national peace, not make general statements about 'peace amongst all’.”

Malaccan: Madam, no one expects only Malays to preserve peace. All races stand united with our Malay brothers and sisters on this.

You are being racial when on one hand you said Malays should be doing it alone, but on the other hand saying you didn't mean other races are not. That is just sophistry.

It is your husband's party and their servants doing the opposite. It is not your duty as the wife of a leader to do anything but remain in the shadow.

You are not a leader and do not have a right to the public platform, much less someone worthy to advise the nation. Your position comes only from your marriage which the nation owes nothing to.

But if you are concerned for the nation, like the rest of us, then you should counsel your husband to take firm action against the real troublemakers that surround Umno like flies to dung.

Don't pontificate to the public when it is widely held that the rot lies in Putrajaya today through its agents and minions. Thank you for your advice, but it is misdirected.

Rakyat-in-Grief: An unwanted piece of advice aimed at the wrong people from the wrong person.

NuckinFuts: Just when the rakyat were starting to respect Najib for reaching out to the poor and homeless, she comes out with this unwarranted advice.

Here's a tip for you, Rosmah. If it's love and approval you are looking for, you will be loved by the whole country (not the parasites in BN) if you were to direct this warning to Isma and Perkasa, et al.

Imanust Nais Yalam: "So that God willing, we will receive more rewards from Allah not only for Muslims but others as well," said Rosmah.

I would have commended you had you said a few words less, "Allah not only for Muslims but others as well." LOL (laugh out loud).

Chipmunk: Never in the life of Malaysian politics did the wife of a leader come out to make such comments because the leaders always took the leadership role to hold the fort together and comments were solely reserved for them.

But Rosmah, in your case your husband seems to be the speechless and spineless, unable to comment where comments are needed.

Why is the PM who is elected to be the leader require his wife to make such comments? Who wears the pants in the house?

Stried: At last our real prime minister is talking.
