‘Celaka’ an insult, but not ‘balik tongsan’?

YOURSAY ‘He doesn't know what 'tongsan' means? Was he born yesterday?’

'Balik tongsan' not insult, claims Umno man

Swipenter: Celaka Umno Baru. Does that now sound offensive to you, Federal Territories Umno Youth chief Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii?

This "celaka" word is just a normal word which many of us use daily to express something which we don't agree or not like.

But you twisted it into something else that warranted a demonstration, threats of violence and even destruction of property of others.

You are nothing but a hypocrite and an expedient Umno Baru politician.

Oriole: Perhaps instead of making a federal case out of this, why not just ask Razlan to ‘balik Java Tengah’?

You have to realise by now, that you are dealing with some of the lowest common denominators in the country.

This is probably the outcome of Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin's deep interest in cultivating the mat rempit phenomenon - a bit like Hitler's brutish youths.

So answer them back in kind instead of going crying to teacher every time a nut job Umno cheapskate says something.

Odysseus: He is an Umno leader and he can claim that he doesn't know what 'tongsan' means. Was he born yesterday?

He is either really stupid or he thinks we are stupid. Perhaps, it's the school that he went to that failed him miserably.

Geronimo: Mohd Razlan, for your information, “tongsan” is an antiquated word in Cantonese which means China. This word is hardly in use today.

The correct usage is now in Mandarin, "Chung Kwo" which literally means the Middle Kingdom or China.

Guna Otak Sikit: A coward always dare not admit what he/she said.

Police to call Kit Siang in for a statement

Lim Chong Leong: Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said the statement by the Gelang Patah MP Lim Kit Siang was an attempt to influence the people that Teoh Beng Hock’s death was due to murder.

"Do not try to create something which is not true but can cause the people to be angry and suspicious. A political leader should not make a statement like that," he said.

Now, how is this (causing the people to be angry and suspicious) in anyway seditious?

Vasudevan: IGP's comments on the conversion case raises more public anger than this. How about fairness in application of law? Why is it one-sided?

You want to only hear and do what you think is convenient to you. It’s not fair.

Observer: The police chief should be neutral and not make political comments.

Quigonbond: The royal commission of inquiry (RCI) has already concluded that while Teoh committed suicide, the authorities were culpable.

Hence, isn't that killing? It's only the Attorney-General’s Chambers and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) that is not taking any criminal or administrative action against the culprits.

Their failure or omission does not render a reference to "killing" seditious. By the way, even killing oneself is killing. Got it?

Geronimo: Oh yes, we forgot that during the open verdict, it was stated that Teoh was neither murdered nor did he commit suicide.

In other words, clearly he is still alive and is walking amongst us. What idiots is this government taking us for?

Ipohcrite: Since the IGP has decided to investigate Lim for his statement, he should also investigate those persons who conducted the RCI.

After all, the RCI's report was very damning on the MACC and the MACC officers, more so than what Lim said which, in large part, was based on the RCI's report.

Mosquitobrain: I doubt this IGP can shoot straight. He sure is missing a lot of targets and priorities.

The Korean lady tourist unintentionally wearing blouse with some Quran verses bought in India can also be hauled up. She probably has mistaken the verses as fancy designs for the blouse.

Frankly speaking, is there any harm caused by wearing that blouse?

Fair&Just: A witness and prospective husband and father committing suicide?

As usual, looking down on the meekness, timidness and alleged cowardice of the Chinese, but the Chinese are a strong and resilient lot surviving the harsh conditions and environment here for decades. Go figure.

I’m waiting for the capability, resources and time to emigrate to a much, much better place.

BumiKita: IGP, why don’t you call DPM Muhyiddin Yassin for his statement on May 13?  What double standard are you practicing?

The DPM was also trying to create something that is not true.
