More police reports have been lodged against Jemaah ISIS Malaysia for urging the slaughtering of the people of Sabah and Sarawak because they are ‘kapir’ (infidel), and insulting the ‘semi-naked’ Dayaks in Sarawak.

Yesterday, the Youth wing of Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) in Miri and the Youth wing of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) in Sibu, as well as four other Dayak non-governmental organisations (NGOs), lodged police reports against the purported seditious statements made by the group in its Facebook postings.

In Miri, SPDP Youth exco member Jaya Ramba said in his police report that the postings, if not controlled, could put a wedge between the people of Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah and Sarawak.

“The postings have insulted the people of the two states,” he said.

Jaya said: “We made a police report because we are worried that the then-prevailing unity will be destroyed in the blink of an eye, following the status update made by Jemaah ISIS Malaysia on a social webpage.

“If such is allowed to continue, riots and chaos will happen in this peaceful country,” he said, pointing out that it is also about the safety of Sarawakians working in Peninsular Malaysia as well as Peninsular Malaysians working in the state.

“We regret this uncivilised act of the culprits. This is not the way Malaysians should behave. We should work together to uphold the 1Malaysia spirit,” Jaya said and urged the police and the Home Affairs Ministry to take immediate action against the owner of the FB account.

'Statements clearly an incitement'

In Sibu, PRS deputy youth chief Sempurai Petrus Ngelai said the the group’s statements were clearly an incitement.

“We want the police to investigate the matter and take action against those who made the statements.

“We don’t want this group of people to destroy the peace of this country,” Sempurai said.

Police reports were also made by the Sibu and Sibu Jaya branches of the Sarawak Dayak National Union, the Sibu branch of Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (Sarawak Dayak Women's Association).

The first police report was made by the Dayak National Congress (DNC), a non-governmental organisation, on Tuesday.

DNC executive secretary Alim Mideh had described the seditious postings by the group as more dangerous than the Penang Voluntary Patrol Unit (PPS) because such statements from the group could trigger racial and religious riots.

Alim urged the police to take an immediate action.

“The Dayak are very angry over these statements. In order to avoid any untoward incident, it is in the best interest of racial harmony that the police carry out an immediate investigation and put a stop to these seditious remarks.

“If the police do not take action, there are some members of the Dayak community who are too emotional and may take the law into their own hands,” Alim warned.
