Is the MACC like the pot calling the kettle black?

YOURSAY ‘When will it be the day when Malaysians say, enough is enough!’

MACC: Set up Police Integrity Commission

The Analyser: Let's take an honest look at this proposal. If they are dealing with police misconduct and abuse of power, I'll assume that misconduct means failure to carry out their duties efficiently. A generous estimate suggests that 83.8 percent of the force would be promoted sideways or given desk jobs. Will we notice the difference?

Well, opposition MPs and liberal thinkers would. But it's doubtful that criminals and road users would. The benefits are that criminals can go about their business unheeded. Drivers can drive as they always have and the money saved can offset the introduction of the goods and services tax (GST).

Boonpou: Every morning when I wake up and at some point thereafter when I turn on my computer and read Malaysiakini online, there has never been a single day where I could come across Malaysia being a better country to come. Every day I read about the carnival of our ruling regime and its ridiculous manufactured extremist racist and religious NGOs that are so very well into making a fool of themselves.

When will it be the day when sensible and educated Malaysians of all tribes, which I believe are the majority by now, will finally say, enough is enough! To hell with Umno and their bigoted NGOs. Let us all move forward towards a better Malaysia without the fear and terror manufactured by Umno and Utusan Malaysia and their racial and religious bigotries.

Malaysia can surely do better. Let us all Muhibbah in the true spirit of Muhibbah.

Anonymous_1401696214: Whatever kind of commission or department doesn't help as long as they only report to one person but not the parliament.

Continue-The-March: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) itself has no integrity and now asking others to have integrity? What about the alleged murder of Teoh Beng Hock? The person in charge of that case was promoted instead of punished? MACC, what a joke?

Anonymous#007: Good to know there are cases of graft being taken seriously. However, these are the 'small fishes'. What about action/progress on allegations of graft that involve hundreds of millions and billions of ringgit of the rakyat's monies and some of Malaysia's top politicians and leaders?

Bystander: Wonder why so many are lawless on the road? Just last week I was driving behind a police patrol car who was behind another motorist. As we approached the traffic light junction it turned red and it was very obvious that the car in front of the patrol car was running the red light. I was expecting that the police would pursue to apprehend the motorist, but instead it went on to beat the light, too, only to turn off to another road.

All this time the patrol car was not on any emergency call as the alert light and siren were not on! This is not a joke and if it is, it’s a very sick joke. How could we have faith in our police?

Armageddon: If all cases ultimately require the attorney-general’s (AG) office to decide whether to pursue or otherwise, with or without the Independent Police Integrity Commission or IPMC (or even MACCC) it makes no difference. MACC and IPMC should be given the power to take up any case to court and not leave it up to the AG alone.

Anonymous$&@?: The MACC should have integrity first before they set up the IPIC. It's like the pot calling the kettle black.

MacMac: Just want to know why the traffic cop’s hand is always inside the driver's window when passing a traffic offence summons.

Explain why water deal secret, Putrajaya told

Ibn Khaldun: It is a matter of public interest, I think we must challenge this matter in the courts, they just can't refuse the details of a project that is so important to the people of Selangor. This is indeed troubling it seems there is some complicity int he whole deal. Even in building the North-South Expressway there was no secret, so why the secret here?

CQ Muar: Job well done, and way to go, Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali. Something obviously very fishy and shady about the water restructuring deal, which was the reason why Najib Abdul Razak, his ministers and Khalid Ibrahim were in such a hurry to ink the agreement. Besides, full support was thrown in by Umno to retain Khalid as the MB in order to conceal all secrets pertaining to the agreement.

Now that the pandora’s box will gradually be opened exposing all the filthy tricks, Najib will exercise all he can to challenge and defend the deal under the Official Secrets Act (OSA). Dear Azmin, the time is right for you to throw those corruptible Umno-led government off balance, and put things back on the right track. The nation is watching and praying you will open the can of worms to expose what a dirty and dishonourable government we have!

Kim Quek: Apart from the issue of making the contract document public, which we must fight to have it done, what is your view of the terms of the contract, Azmin? Has Pakatan’s committee of three formed specifically to tackle the water issue studied the contract? What is the outcome?

Pakatan must quickly formulate its stand on this pact entered into by Khalid Ibrahim, so that remedial measures (if any) can be taken before the implementation goes too far.

RR: If everything goes under the OSA, then we don't need a parliament or assembly or general election in the country. Let us go back to the Stone Age for warrior or caliphate system where the vested interests decide everything.

Jbsuara: When the OSA was first presented, some leaders has reassured the citizens that this Act is needed to prevent official national documents from falling into the possession of foreigners. Now the citizens are aware that this act has been abused. Why should any government department invoke this act against the people they serve and their representatives? Isn't this ridiculous?

Swipenter: OSA is the best way to facilitate and conduct corrupt practices with impunity and in secrecy. This is also to make the public ignorant of such activities. How nice to plunder and rape the country blind with impunity.

Flyingeagle: Be careful if you speak and demand the truth and they cannot provide the answer(s). They will outsource the matter and they will threaten you people.
