PAS should be made to taste own medicine

YOURSAY ‘Pakatan Rakyat must now abandon PAS to its chosen fate.’

Chop off PAS if needed, Gobind tells Pakatan

Malaccan: PAS has chosen to go rogue and abandoned its loyal allies; tempted, duped and trapped by Umno, like a simple-minded village girl seduced by the urban rascal to repeatedly give up her virtues over empty promises.

Likewise, PAS believe its goal to Utopia and paradise is within reach. Unfortunately Pakatan Rakyat must now abandon PAS to its chosen fate and cut its losses.

Umno will betray PAS once it forces Pakatan to split and attract voters from all races, Muslims and non-Muslims, who will be ditching PAS in droves.

PAS in its arrogant self-delusion believe its version of hudud is divine and Muslims will support them despite contrary evidence in the past. And when Umno reverses its course so that it doesn't lose votes and its own anxious allies, PAS will be in the cold again, not having learnt its lesson.

Those who do not learn from history is doomed to repeat it. PAS will continue to blame others as it has always done not seeing its own greed and faithlessness. The betrayer will get its just dues.

Kingfisher: It is very unfortunate that Pakatan is in a predicament as Umno and PAS are wittingly or otherwise undermining the growth and development of a viable multiracial and multicultural political association to rival the BN.

BN has been eroded to the core and it is matter of time that Umno will be left to itself due to abject default in leadership of BN.

The existing rather skeletal non-Malay/Muslim component partners in BN have been marginalised and will be soon left with no option but to take their tribal affiliations elsewhere. But where?

As circumstances do not have much promise for PKR, Malaysian politics may be forced to adopt a primordial/primitive tribal mode and then establish meaningful co-existence.

It is not going to be easy but Umno, due to the absence of wise and righteous leaders and its inability to see the forest for the trees, has created this dilemma for the plural society in Malaysia.

Absolute power has a tendency to go astray even with the best of brains.

Proarte: No more 'mulling' or ‘considering’. DAP should show the rakyat that it  really means business when it says it will uphold the Malaysian constitution and is a party which operates on the basis of principles and the rule of law.

PAS is clearly in breach of the 'common manifesto' of Pakatan as it was in breach of the Barisan Alternatif 'manifesto' way back in 2000. PAS, as with a lot of Islamists the world over, cannot be trusted.

Their focus is on backward and primitive ideas which have no place in the civilised world. If DAP continues to dilly-dally over PAS' intransigence, it will be undermined and will lose the moral high ground.

DAP must show the rakyat that it will do what is right for the nation and will uphold the constitution even if its decisions are not popular in the short term.

I personally believe that PAS will be left stranded on its 'Hudud Island' with even its 'friend' Umno abandoning it. PAS is on its last legs and its desperation is evidenced by its cooperation with Umno.

Tell the Truth: PAS has exposed its ugly agenda, especially the ulama who have even concealed their treacherous plans from the PAS central committee leaders.

Obviously there are two factions in PAS and it will do Pakatan good to make a conscious decision to cut PAS off from the coalition because the non-Muslim population will never trust PAS to be a genuine partner who will respect the federal constitution.

PasMa (Persatuan Ummah Sejahtera Malaysia) may also have to make a conscious decision on where it stands. I say cut off PAS because even if they relent to Pakatan's stand today, tomorrow when Pakatan takes over Putrajaya they will force the ruling government's hand on this same issue.

Better we know the devil now than later.

Single Malt: Well said, Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo! Almost my wish come true.

Forget about Pakatan leader Anwar Ibrahim as he has his own limitations. For all you know, he may strike a deal with the devils for self-preservation and we can't blame him.

One has to take a calculated risk in life. Muslims who want moderation, progress and a corruption-free government will join a coalition without PAS.

MinahBulat: PAS’ Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud won Kota Raja in 2008 and 2013 GE. She is a very hard working woman and I have the utmost respect for her.

With the hudud issue, do you think Siti Mariah can get the support of the electorates in GE14?

People today vote along party lines and I feel sad that if there are no drastic measures taken in PAS, it will be Siti Mariah’s last term in Kota Raja.

Patriot: With all due respect to all who want PAS out from Pakatan - whilst the DAP looks quite adamant in wanting PAS out, PKR however seems quite reserved on the matter.

Don't we forget, DAP won many seats with Malay votes too. I wish to ask one thing, will DSAI (Anwar) agree to this (to kick PAS out of Pakatan). I bet he will not as he knows too well that this is just too big a gamble for Pakatan to take right now.

Do you honestly think that hudud will split Pakatan? I personally don't think it will. It is Umno who is now in a big limbo, believe me. Umno is not scared of PKR or DAP. They are dead worried about PAS.

And that is why, they are going all out to split Pakatan. And these views are not coming from me, but from within Umno circles.

And we in Pakatan are falling into Umno’s trap. Please wake up folk, before it is too late. If not, it’s farewell to Pakatan.

Hang Tuah PJ: Let Kelantan be the experimental 'guinea pig' and let all Muslim Malaysians witness for themselves how it is implemented and whether they want the same law in other states for Muslims only.

Either that or cut the ties with PAS and invite the reasonable-minded PAS assemblymen/MPs such as Khalid Samad, Yusof Mujahid Rawa, Mat Sabu and Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud to join DAP/PKR as members or associate members. Alternatively, there is also PasMa.
