Verdict given but still a crime without motive

YOURSAY ‘Murder without a motive? Even the Parisian terrorists had a motive.’

Court finds duo guilty, arrest warrant for Sirul

LifeFlier: Who is the real murderer behind the Altantuya Shaariibuu case? We can all make an educated guess based on hearsay, and we all get the same answer, what a sheer coincidence.

This belief is more potent than any undisclosed facts. And by the way, people act based on their belief when the facts are not available.

MacMac: The verdict has been given but there is still a lot of unanswered questions. Where did they get the C4 explosives? Is it in the same way as the soldier who stole the mortar bomb for scrap metal? Why blew the victim up? Did the learned judges miss something? Only God knows.

MingXiang: It is a given the two cops did the actual killing but, sadly, we are no nearer to the truth really.

Alfanso: I have no business commenting on the honourable judges' decision. Otherwise I will be cited as contempt of court. I am also scared that if I comment on other issues, I will be charged with sedition. So what to do?

To say what I want to say is not permitted but to not to say is not good behaviour. “It ain’t so much the things we don’t know that get us into trouble. It’s the things we know that just ain’t so.”

Wira: Murder without a motive? Only in Malaysia. Even the Parisian terrorists had a motive. By the way, second accused Sirul Azhar Umar had been ruled innocent and released by the Court of Appeal earlier. So he was technically not on bail.

YouAreNotAlone: From the beginning of the case till now, we have never seen the looks of the two accused before.

So I am wondering if today's appearance of one of the accused is the actual person or is he a scapegoat?

Visu: All five judges have found the accused guilty. This is bizarre as rarely in any politically-motivated case was there a unanimous decision.

The duo was obviously guilty, yet it took so long to come up with a decision. The fact that Sirul did not attend and a warrant of arrest has been issued spotlights another possible conspiracy.

Fairnessforall: No, it is not over yet. Why weren't the two murderers asked as to whose instructions they were carrying out when they murdered her?

They did not even know her and I am sure they would not go around just murdering people at random. And where did they get the C4 from?

Didn't the judges think that these were relevant questions?

Real Truth: Who are the real murderers of Altuntuya? Who ordered their execution? Is the law not interested in the truth? This case is still open and pricks the conscience of Malaysians.

Headhunter: The final verdict is a very significant development. The skeletons in the cupboard are going to be exposed. The canaries will start to sing.

Surely they are not going to take the rap. Someone out there is going to start having recurring nightmares again.

KY Jelly: The court has made a fair and impartial decision on the Altantuya case. And finally, the offenders have been convicted of murder. Now, let Altantuya's soul rest in peace.

CQ Muar: KY Jelly, don't be too hasty. Not quite over yet as those behind the scene who issued the murder order have yet to be accounted for.

Atantuya's soul won't rest in peace unless and until those actual culprits are exposed and sentenced accordingly.

Sali Tambap: They have taken an innocent life and they will pay the consequence. More so for those who believe in the judgment of God, they will be judged accordingly in the hereafter. They will not go scot free.

What is puzzling and surely, embarrassing, to the Malaysian judiciary, police and government, is how could a person previously sentenced to death have gone missing and did not attend the court to heart his verdict?

There is so much wrong with this country.

StopMonkeying: Unanswered pertinent questions are:

1. Why would the duo, Azilah Hadri and Sirul, want to kill and blow up Altantuya?

2. What is the motive behind this gruesome murder?

3. Who was the mastermind who gave the order?

4. How was C4 explosives obtained and with whose permission?

5. Why were Azilah's and Sirul's faces fully covered during the entire trial?

Until and unless all these questions are satisfactorily answered, doubts will continue to linger in the minds of all fair-minded and right-thinking Malaysians.

Cantabrigian: I hope this is not one of two things:

1. A paper judgment, where the verdict of guilt is just in writing, but the implementation will either not happen or the executed will be another person disguised as the convict, or

2. A well-planned 'sandiwara' where the Agong, being advised by the prime minister, will give royal pardon and reduce the sentence to life imprisonment.

This is after all Malaysia, truly Boleh.

Anonymous_1408391043: Finally the fairy tale comes to an end. Everybody leaves and lives happily ever after in peace and prosperity. The guilty party is punished and the victim can rest in peace.

But with a very big exception: who are these two guilty parties? No one has seen their faces and so no one will ever know who they actually are. Good script.
