PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali today told uneasy ally DAP not to be arrogant in Pakatan Rakyat.

 

This comes amid frosty relations between the two parties as DAP continues to slam PAS for wanting to implement hudud to Kelantan, which it said is not part of Pakatan's common policy.

 

'I urge DAP leaders not to continue with their proud and arrogant attitude as it goes against the practices and spirit of friendship in this cooperation," Mustafa said in a statement today.

 

Mustafa also jumped on DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke's ( right ) admission that local elections which the Penang government is pushing for is also not part of Pakatan's common policy.

 

"DAP has always said any issue not in the common policy and not agreed upon by the Pakatan top leadership cannot be executed.

 

"The issue of local government is an example of DAP's inconsistent attitude in this matter," he said.

 

Loke had conceded that local elections had not been agreed upon by all three Pakatan parties but insisted that it spurs democratisation which is part of the coalition's agenda.

 

In contrast, Loke argued that unlike local elections, hudud went against the federal constitution.
