Official Chinese MH370 website accessible in China

MH370 Access to the Chinese version of the MH370 official website - www.mh370.gov.my - is now available in China to get the right and reliable information on the ill-fated Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight.

With the support and cooperation given by the Chinese government, the website - where information is all in Chinese - could be accessed in the country, said Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Jailani Johari.

“All information is in Chinese, including the up-to-date search and rescue information, news, etc,” Jailani ( right ) said, adding that the next-of-kin would be able to raise their questions at the “next-of-kin” column specially dedicated for them.

The website had been launched in October last year in both English and Chinese versions, however, none of the Chinese families of the passengers on board were aware of the existence of the website, he told Malaysian journalists, in Beijing today.

Jailani hoped with the announcement of the website's existence, Chinese nationals - especially the next-of-kin of the affected passengers on board - would be able to obtain the necessary information.

Besides updating the latest information on the search of the aircraft, the official site also provided the flight manifest, contact information and media news.

He pointed out that the Chinese government had reiterated its commitment to continue providing support and assistance to the search of the missing flight, as well as to ensure the welfare of the affected passengers' next-of-kin.

A delegation led by Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai ( left ) arrived in Beijing on Sunday to attend meetings with the vice-minister of China's Transport Ministry, as well as the vice-minister of China's Foreign Ministry.

The delegation members included Deputy Defence Minister Abdul Rahim Bakri, Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Chew Mei Fun, Civil Aviation Department director-general Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, as well as newly-appointed Malaysian ambassador to China Zainuddin Yahya.

The MH370 Boeing 777-200ER aircraft carrying 239 passengers, mostly Chinese, and crew members, disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8. It is believed to have ended in the Indian Ocean.
