PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has confirmed that there was an offer made to opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim to take up the deputy prime minister's post after the last general election.

He claimed that the package also included four ministerial posts for PKR leaders.

However, Rafizi ( right ) added that it was not a "genuine offer" as Najib had balked when DAP and PAS came into the picture.

He also said that if the offer had been accepted, it would have broken up Pakatan Rakyat.

Rafizi said it was pointed out to Umno back then, that a national reconciliation could only take place with Pakatan as a whole, and not just with PKR.

"If (they) had wanted a national reconciliation, it should include DAP and PAS. That's where everything crumbled.

"I'll put it on record that my opinion was very clear at that time. If it just involved PKR, I would have walked out. Anwar and PKR was consistent throughout - it should involve Pakatan," he asserted.

He emphasised that the information was updated by Anwar to the Pakatan leadership level, and that they had keep it quiet out of respect for Indonesian vice-president Jusuf Kalla.

Asked about the positions offered for the four ministerial posts, Rafizi said it was not known what had been offered, but joked that it might have been something insignificant.

Meanwhile, Rafizi lambasted Umno ministers Khairy Jamaluddin ( left ) and Abdul Rahman Dahlan's digs against Nurul Izzah Anwar's previous statement that her father had been offered the deputy prime minister post.

"Khairy can say whatever he likes. I actually doubt that Najib has confided in him. I don't think Najib discussed any of these delicate matters with Khairy, or Abdul Rahman, for that matter.

"They can blabber on Twitter as they like, but I doubt that they even know what is happening between (former prime minister Dr) Mahathir (Mohamad) and Najib now," he pointed out.

He added that If Khairy and Abdul Rahman had been in Najib's inner sanctum, they would definitely be in a position to answer all the delicate questions thrown at them.
