Coroner: Police to blame for Sugumar's death
Pputeh: Not only must this case be investigated and those responsible be sacked, but also the family should sue the police and government for the misdeeds that brought about the death of C Sugumar. No sweeping this under the carpet.
Peacemaker: Don't the police have a standard operating procedure (SOP) for handcuffing a suspect? Since when was curry powder part of the standard issue equipment for police officers?
Slumdog: When the inspector-general of police (IGP) and home minister do not provide the necessary leadership and uphold the law, you cannot expect those under them to be any different.
So it is not surprising that the police become callous and use unnecessary force because they know that they won’t be held accountable for their actions.
It is always the unfortunate victims who are accused of being the aggressor, of resisting arrest and of attacking the police with weapons that appear from thin air.
The whole police culture has to change, but this won't happen until hell freezes over.

Human lives to them are mere digits in their NFA (no further action) files.

My Opinion: Charge those responsible for manslaughter. The IGP has to pay compensation for the police negligence. But please compensate the victim's family using the police funds and not taxpayers' money.

The fact that Bank Negara has allowed the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) loan to not be classified as default, itself shows the integrity of the central bank.
