YOURSAY ‘Let light shine into the darkness and expose all the wrongdoing.’

'Another US$330mil channelled to Jho Low'

Kingfisher: If the allegations are true and where these infringements of professional responsibilities are pursued via rational prosecutions in the courts of law, and when and if those entrusted with guardianship of national finances - be it the finance minister and the CEOs of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) - are found complicit, someone should be sent to jail.

No matter what status and heritage.

Odin: I would not want to put the blame entirely on flamboyant tycoon Jho Low. I hold the view that he is something of a mere proxy.

There is no way that he could have done what he has done without the abetment of someone very senior in 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

The money siphoned out of 1MDB has been channelled through various companies owned by him in the hope to hide the trail. For his part in the alleged grand theft, he is entitled to a portion of the loot while the real crook gets the lion's share.

He ‘tolong’ (help) the crook, and the crook ‘tolong’ him. If we want to identify the crook, we only need to see which person connected to 1MDB has been spending like the maharajahs of old.

Cmfoo: Is it any surprise at all? After all, the Finance Ministry, 1MDB (both chaired by none other than PM Najib Razak) and now, perhaps even Bank Negara is complicit in this whole 1MDB sorry state of affairs, resulting in a great burden for the country’s taxpayers.

CQ Muar: Zeti Akhtar Aziz, being the governor of BNM, should have intercepted, prevented and exposed such illicit transfer, if any.

Such transactions, regardless of the amount, tantamount to money laundering that carries a heavy penalty.

We have, until now, respected Zeti as a highly honourable governor considering those appraisals conferred upon her in the past.

Now that such irregular practices had been exposed, she should be explain her role and not remain silent over the alleged hefty monetary transactions.

Pemerhati: Despite all the exposes by the Sarawak Report on Abdul Taib Mahmud’s massive theft, no action has been taken against the former chief minister.

Now Sarawak Report is revealing how Najib seems to have siphoned off and stolen billions through 1MDB. There is a slight difference in the current situation in that Mahathir is also on the war path against Najib.

Will the combined effect of the Sarawak Report and Mahathir result in some meaningful action that will put a stop to the billions of the people’s money being stolen by the top leaders of BN?

If nothing happens now then it means that the thieves have an iron grip on the levers of power and they can continue stealing as they like and no one can do anything about it. Malaysians would then be in for a very bleak future.

Ben-ghazi: Is 1MDB in the business of lending money, too? I thought you need a licence to operate as a bank.

So 1MDB borrowed a lot of money and then lend it to whichever company it desired. This is getting most intriguing to say the least.

Jesse: Nations invest for productive purposes such as infrastructure, factories, etc. Our government spends money on speculative activities with money being siphoned off in the process and no one accounts for it.

We have squandered so much of the nation's wealth and it disappears into Umno’s and its cronies’ pockets.

No wonder we are stuck deep in the mud and unable to break out of the developing nation rut, and there are citizens out there still voting for Umno.

Anonymous_1371508752: Let light continue to shine into the darkness and expose all wrongdoing. There should be no let-up and no stone should be left unturned. The perpetrators have to go to jail.

Anonymous_1391693662: The full amount of the money should be recovered in whatever way from those who are going to step down.

The entire BN team has benefitted from all this in some way. Therefore, the entire team’s passports should be withheld so no one can leave the country, and especially to Australia in some cases.

Disgusted: Why arrest Low? He says he has nothing to do with 1MDB and he is not in its management board or a director and has no hand in its decision-making.

If someone wants to park billions into my account, wouldn't I be happy? Why should I complain? Even if I get a cut of 10 percent, I would be in earthly heaven.

Does anyone think the money trail ends in Low’s account? Does anyone know how much of it has exited out to you-know-who family's accounts? There is more intrigue to that.

Low is now used as a punching bag by Najib's supporters. That's what the Chinese and Indian cronies in this country are - proxies to channel ill-gotten gains through them and back into their accounts overseas. It’s a form of money laundering.

In the meantime, the rakyat are taxed heavily and are forced to live on congee.

Not Convinced: So Najib is suing Malaysiakini, Harakah and a string of MPs. May I suggest that he sues Mahathir for insinuating that he is a murderer.

And while Najib is at it, he should sue Sarawak Report too.
